  1. That table top is concrete isn't it? I need to make one of these for our place. Looks great.
  2. Ulster county is just a short jog to NJ. For goodness sake people don't jump to conclusions! I have a friend that junts Jersey and NY he is located just over the border in NJ lets just relax and take a breath. I know the hunting is hard but Jeez.
  3. Depends on how many rounds it takes to zero. Usually about 8 rounds then or away until deer season. 3 to get on target. Then a shot at 100, another at 200 and depending where I'm shooting another at 300 with a couple follow ups to try a nice group. If I can't do 300 then just try a nice group at 200 instead. 5. Have a jumper pack myself actually 2 key is to plug it in every week to make sure the battery stays charged. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  6. That is it right there. Enough said.
  7. Here we go, man this is getting old.
  8. I have seen some of the nicest deer on halloween night, father in law has shot 3 wall hangers that same night. I won't be out have to take the kids trick or treating.
  9. Great Job guys! Sounded like a good time. That's hunting for ya, love those experiences.
  10. I use 95gr. SST they hit the deer pretty hard. Wife shot a nice 8 point high shoulder at 50 yards he rolled over backwards and laid hooves up, when I got there he was dead as a stone from the shot. Wife wasn't sure if he was dead. That was her first gun deer.
  11. You and me both. The shows I watch now get excited at first then they cut back to the interview after the shot and say something like "shot was a little far back" or "a little high" then back out and come back that night or the next day. As soon as I watch them gut shoot or make a horrible shot and say numerous times great shot or perfect shot I don't watch that show anymore. Who are they trying to fool any hunter that has put in the effort can see what a crappy shot they made. Lying to your audience of experienced hunters is bad practice and will loose you viewers.
  12. I wish, they will likely only move little bit at a time then bed back up.
  13. Fear mongering. I'm betting this more of a knee jerk reaction to the incident. Was she wearing a helmet, how fast was she going, experience level on an ATV, there are a lot of factors that could have lead to the passing of the young lady not just because someone passed on a small buck. If I hit a deer with my car I don't blame a hunter for not shooting it. No one has control over God's creatures (no getting biblical) this is the classic case of lets blame someone/something else for what happened to make us all feel better. This is a perfect example and no different than blaming guns and law abiding gun owners for mass shootings, and gun related deaths.
  14. I did get a sauasage stuffer for dirt cheap compared to anywhere else. I have been watching them for a long time and had yet to find a stainless steel 20lbs. stuffer for under $200 I paid $169.99. Other than that and some reloading brass, and some trolling spoons their prices were 50% and 60% off MSRP not regular price. I was pretty disappointed by the lack of sales on guns. I went in there as soon as the sale began and the amount they were asking for guns still was no more than $20 off what most shops sell them for. If I ask where I normally shop they will usually drop 10% off. He has sold me guns for just a little above cost and once for less than cost. Great shop and seem to really know their stuff. Just wish they would start carrying reloading powder so it would be a one stop shop for me. It's like car dealerships no different saying they are giving such great prices like Mcguire with their "Trucktober" pricing. It is all incentives from the car companies and maybe they take another $500 off just so they aren't undersold with their tag line "if you can find it cheaper somewhere else we will give you ours"
  15. I don't think it will matter too much this week I'm betting the big boys start chasing really soon. This weekend and next will be the best 2 weekends to be in the woods.
  16. Had a crap sit on my parent's property in 8F. Usually I sit and see an average of 10 deer. Young bucks and doe but for the whole weekend only saw 7. Makes me wonder what is happening to the herd. That's for another time. Took my 2 year and 9 month old for the first time in our shooting shack. Her had a blast even though he did scare off the few deer we saw. Hoping next year her will understand what move slow means. Also included is a rub I found on my property. Looks like it might be a good buck. My son is standing right next to the tree. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  17. Just glassed our other field to find the soy beans are still up, I know where I'm sitting tonight. There is a creek draw at the one end that leads right into the field. Let's hope the big boy is traveling it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  18. I need a new seat my butt is falling asleep. Have a couple nice rubs but no scrapes, rattled lightly a couple times nothing but squirrels. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  19. looks normal to me Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  20. I have to be out by 8:30 meeting the wife and kids for the zoo boo at the Seneca park zoo. I should just show up in my camo but a hunter at the zoo might give some a bad taste for hunters. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
