  1. The headlines are always "above the fold", but I see the story I'm interested in is continued on page 2.
  2. I put one of those on a Savage 22 magnum bolt gun. For the price, I like it too. But I put this one on my 10/22 this past spring. 3-9x 40mm. Has the BDC calibrated for a 22 LR. Nice clarity for the price point. Zeroed at 50' and the first hash is dead on at 100. Can't go wrong with a Nikon. It's going for $116 on Amazon right now.
  3. Got the Rochester grandkids down for the weekend. Sat around the campfire tonight and saw a dozen-ish shooting stars, including a yellow/orange one that broke up a bit. Was hard to pay attention to the sky with marshmallows and s'mores. Kids like their burning marshmallows!
  4. It's only preseason. I try to not get too high or low - key word, try. They make Kool-Aid in Carolina blue. Make up a big batch and take a swig!
  5. Watched a little more than three quarters of the Bills game before I nodded off. I liked what I saw from the QBs. Peterman looked sharp in that first drive. 7-7 and a TD against what was mostly Carolina's starting defense. He looked like a poised NFL QB. McCarron was good after a slow start. Allen got a TD and took a couple of good NFL hits that didn't rattle him. I like rookie Harrison Phillips, you can tell he loves being a Bill - got his first sack last night. It's only preseason, I couldn't care less about the score. I made a big batch of Bills Koolaid to drink for the next few days!
  6. Local NBC channel in the Elmira/Corning area. Which for us, it's rare to get a televised Bills pre season game. Looking forward to seeing the QB competition!
  7. Landtrac, I'd be willing to donate something. If I missed it earlier in the thread, what kind of stuff are you looking for? No stuff from Dick's though - lol.
  8. Couldn't find it. Although I thought I caught a glimpse of a real short dude, dressed in green, zipping through the woods. Maybe he took it. Damn trespassers!
  9. Just as a brief but fast rain shower was ending. It spanned just my back yard and only lasted about 20 seconds. Grabbed my phone (with a dirty lens) out of my pocket and got a quick shot as it was fading. Was more vivid to the naked eye than in the pic. First time I've seen that in over 10 years here.
  10. I don't know, I'd suggest starting a poll, but everyone is probably indifferent about it...
  11. Shhhh, Andy heard you say wrist rocket.
  12. I'm a relatively law abiding guy, but this regulation seems a little weird. I wonder if anyone has ever been cited for not carrying one.
  13. Nice truck, it's a Honda, so it should be very good to you!
  14. You are a talented dude, Wooly! It's amazing what you can create from almost nothing.
  15. Looking great Wooly! Looking forward to seeing more progress pics!
  16. I've got lots of critter pics, but this is my all time favorite. Granddaughter Madelyn. She likes her ATV rides.
  17. Yes, it's got the same small circle yardage markers as the Nikon. And the circles are right on. The Red Hot is illuminated, but I don't care about that too much. The Red Hot just isn't crisp.
  18. Mowing, weed whacking, and 4 and a half hours brush hogging today. Makes you thirsty.
  19. Anyone upgrade their scope and get this one? The scope that came on my Parker isn't much for clarity. I've had good luck with Nikon's riflescopes. http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en/nikon-products/product-archive/riflescopes/bolt-xr-crossbow-scope.html
  20. Chicken of the woods. Good size!
  21. I went to one of their auctions back in 2013 when everyone was buying anything gun or gun related after Cuomo passed his Safe Act. There was a zillion people there. Looked like it took forever just to get in. Cars parked on both sides of the road, had to park a half mile away. Never went in. Milled around in the parking lot, got some FUAC stickers, got a hot dog from the hot dog truck in the parking lot (don't remember what kind), and drove back home for an hour. I've seen lots of advertisements from them and they have some cool auctions. This one should be good.
  22. This year in 8T it's low and none for first and second permits. No non-residents. I don't have it on my phone, but if I remember when I get home, I'll post up the pic my daughter took with up to 17 does in the field in front of her all day long on opening day of rifle last year. She's out of state, so she didn't have a permit, and I no longer had a landowner's to sign over to her. I do believe that it varies within the area, but hard to take when you see so many. Wherabouts roughly do you hunt in 8T?
