Shot a 9 pointer this past year that would have been a 10 but was missing a brow tine. Also his right G-4 was broken half-way leaving the bottom inch or so. I'm having the taxidermist fix the G-4, but not the missing brow tine as that would change what I tagged. I don't care about somebody giving me grief about it. My shot, my living room wall.

Well if you're getting old..I've usually got three hours of shuteye in by that time. I'm ancient!

I do occasionally, but prefer the heart. Eggwash and flour, seared in olive oil and whatever spices strike my mood that day. My wife used to be repulsed by it (and she's a deer hunter who otherwise loves venison), but tried it the last time I made it and then grabbed a pretty good helping.

Love these kind of threads. Unfortunately besides skulls/skeletons I can't claim to have ever found anything cool or odd. Not really "found", but on a neighboring property that I used to hunt years ago, there is an old hearse in the woods. Probably late 50's or early 60's. I hunted out of it once on a drizzly day.

Following this as I picked up a new Savage in 6.5 Creedmoor. My Christmas gift to myself. Guess I'll need to break that in properly too.

That's my exact situation as well.

My favorite memories chronologically; 1. Meeting up with my daughter when she shot her first deer. It was a basket racked 8 pointer, but as far as I was concerned, the best buck in the woods. I remember the look of concern she had when I pulled it to the edge of the field by his antlers - she was concerned I'd break them off! 2. Meeting up with my daughter when she shot her best buck to date, a wide 9 pointer that now graces her dining room wall. 3. Meeting up with my wife when she shot her best buck this past November, a gorgeous 8 pointer which in a few months will be the biggest buck on our living room wall. 4. The does I took with my grandson in the stand with me (last year and the year before). I waited until he gave the "authorization" to fire. I see that none of these best memories include any of my deer - I might need to step up my game here!

I don't see any signs of pedicles so I'll say doe. A well fed one!

Showing my ignorance here. I thought all cell phones/smart phones gave you your GPS location based on triangulation of cell phone towers which "convert" to Lat/Lon. So no cell signal, no GPS location. Is that correct? I mean, the phones don't acquire satellites like my car GPS does, right?

Is this the same neighbor as last week's post, or a different one?
