I keep ours registered and renew every year. Although 99.9% of the usage is on my own property. But I've forgotten (and don't have mine here to look at now), but the reg is a transferrable reg isn't it? If so, is that the only method to verify ownership?

But once the playoffs start, anything can happen....

I always liked Fitzpatrick, but he'd kill us with those late interceptions especially during comebacks. As much as I like him, I'm glad he hasn't lost his "touch"!

Great shots guys!

Live from the office. A group of fine does just came by on their way to the breakroom, and the young bucks in the hall are starting to act stupid. Man, I should've taken today off! -
Awesome Skillet- Great memory made there. Special day indeed!

I've had better luck getting the DEC's attention for trespassers than general law enforcement. I've had repeat problems with known trespassers and the State Police couldn't be bothered even though the trespasser threatened violence. The DEC were very attentive. Luckily (for him) the guy didn't show the next day, but if he did, the DEC were ready, and verified with me that I would be willing to "see it through" with the charges because they guaranteed me that they would see it through.

I'd rather have an unknown free agent QB for second string. EJ is known. For exactly what he did yesterday.

HUGE Bills fan for many, many years here! That said, I've learned to enjoy this time of year the best. Hopes are high, and the annual disappointments haven't happened yet. This year feels way different though, and it reminds me of the Kelly signing in '86. Rex is boisterous but confident, and the last few coaches were stiffs. Pegula is not afraid to spend money, and they've got a top tier defense. The McCoy signing, Watkins in his sophomore year, Charles Clay for TE - I'm psyched for 2015! Oh yeah, there's that pesky QB situation to sort out. The bad? I live in the southern tier, and the dang Giants game is being televised tonight. Gotta figure out the online method of viewing!

So in my area (8T) where just a few years ago they were giving out doe permits like candy, the DEC in their infinite wisdom has made our area a ""PP required" area. So no doe permits at all unless you have preference points. We don't have a lot of bruiser bucks running traditionally or this year on camera, so between not taking a juvenile buck and not being able to take a doe during rifle, I'll be doing a lot of hard hunting and not be allowed to fall back on a doe for the freezer. Seems extreme to go from giving out three DMP's a few short years ago to shutting it down this year. Trail cam results for me are 10 does on camera for every buck. I was out brush hogging the other evening and saw five different does in a half hour. I'm at a loss to figure out what their objective is. Neighboring units have no such limitations.

Where are you able to see profile visitor stats? I have many views, but don't see a feature for statistics.

Irish Spring bar soap as deer repellent
Steuben Jerry replied to LET EM GROW's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Sounds pretty creative, but won't the rain wash the soap onto and into the ground, keeping the scent there longer than you would like? Keep us informed if you can as I can't seem to grow anything beyond the sprout stage before it gets wiped out. -
Very nice of you to do! 11

We looked into home brew type security but eventually decided on a monitoring system with door/window sensors and motion sensors in the house. We had ADT quote along with a couple of others and ADT was way high compared to the competition. We live in a rural setting and work out of town so the monitoring gave me comfort in knowing the police would be on scene long before we could be. $35/ month is what we pay and the sirens that go off immediately are certainly loud! You get a phone call from the monitoring company immediately to ask if the police should be dispatched (in case it was accidently triggered, you can cancel the police). You have to give a code to the caller, and either no answer or a wrong code will automatically send the police. I have a key fob for the system and can control it with a smart phone while I'm away. Pretty good functionality for the price. I'd have to dig up the original invoice to see what we paid for the equipment. Can't remember since it's been a few years.

Thanks WNY! I did most of the boiling outside and exactly as you said, finished inside on the stove. I think I had it there and started to pour some in a jar when I was fooled by the thinner consistency when it was hot. I returned in to the pot to boil some more. Shortly after that I noticed a point where it boiled at a lower temperature as I had to reduce the heat a lot to keep a low boil. I probably was OK with syrup at the first pour, and certainly after the reduction of heat but I kept going a bit! After pouring it into jars, I saw it start to get cloudy after it cooled. I put it in the fridge and by the next morning I had semi-solid maple sugar! It's pretty good if you like sweet stuff, but there's certainly no pouring. Still learning!

I tried this for the first time last Saturday, boiling about 20 gals of sap. I thought I could finish it "by eye" but I wound up with about a quart of maple sugar! Hydrometer is on the way for a second attempt this weekend. Any tips on this for a maple newbie?

Nonresident hunting in ny with 30 cal ar
Steuben Jerry replied to Slaynbux's topic in General Chit Chat
There should be no argument amongst gun owners for using a legal gun in a legal and ethical manner regardless of the gun's appearance. This is exactly what the antis want, to turn us against one another. We need to band together and support one another. I don't duck hunt, but would support a duck hunter's choice of method or implement if it was legal and ethical. Maybe if there was more banding together of gun owners we'd be reading about Governor Astorino now in the news and possibly buying ammo on line again. So what if it's black, machine-like in it's appearance and shoots without manually operating a bolt to chamber a second round? If it's what you want to use, I certainly support it, and I shouldn't judge your gun on appearance. I was taught not to judge people that way either. -
