  1. We’ve got a few on the deck just feet from the living room windows. Love watching the activity on a snowy day. Keeps the dog mesmerized too.
  2. Thanks! I can visualize from your description and the link helps! Think I’m going to try that this year. We were boiling as kind of a side activity when the grandkids were smaller and would come for the weekend. So I used a propane cooker just because I didn’t have to fuss with it that much while we were doing other things. But holy crap, I would burn through a lot of propane. I’d much rather utilize some of the dead standing ash trees I’ve got.
  3. I like that and was planning on something similar this year. Got a pic of the back side where you have the stove pipe attached?
  4. Holy crap - is that right? Thousands? My water comes out of the ground for free, but even 15 years ago when I was paying for municipal water I don't think we were paying more than $400-500/year. and that was with a 36x18 pool, and me, wifey, and two teenage daughters in the house.
  5. Here’s one of the smallest operations, with a little help from our grandson. We make only about a gallon of finished. We keep a bottle or two and give the rest to the kids. Grandson helped with the brand development, lol.
  6. So sorry Cynthia! I know what that feels like. Rest easy that you did what was right for him, and Max loves you for it. You'll meet again at the Rainbow bridge.
  7. Glad your daughter is improving Biz, at least as far as getting discharged. Hope she recovers quickly!
  8. Oh man, sorry to hear Cynthia! How old is Max?
  9. I think she’s the same one I started seeing last winter. Never saw one before that. She’s part of a flock that passes behind the house regularly on the way to the neighbor’s corn field. She disappeared during archery season.
  10. Picking at the bird feeder spillage in the back yard.
  11. Haha! I always consider it the offseason when the multi page threads that go off the rails several times appear. I am able to confirm them when I see the turtle!
  12. I do that too. Dinner is done cooking and no mess is left. My wife thinks I'm over the top with it.
  13. Registered Republican, but actual Libertarian here. I respect every sane person's opinion. But I cannot agree when their actions work to restrict my current freedoms or work to take money from me that I have earned, to give to others who can't be bothered to earn it themselves.

  15. And when the Nebraskans say "screw NY, who cares what happens there, and the North Carolinians say "who cares what happens in Nebraska", and when the Virginians say...well, you get the point.
  16. This is what all Biden voters and the majority of all voters wanted, right?
  17. Interesting, what's the retail on that bad boy? Probably 2X the cost of both my ATV's together.
  18. That's great for a young man, how bout an old man? I have a canoe also, but I get winded when I'm pulling two water skiers. Nothing like setting progress back 100 years. Industrial revolution and/or modern technology, who needs it, right?
  19. I agree that oil and gas need to be phased out EVENTUALLY, but I do not believe that now is the time. Electric cars are gaining ground, but am I supposed to replace the following with electric; Tractor 2 ATVs 2 Boats 2 weedwhackers 2 chainsaws wood splitter lawn mower generator tiller leaf blower ice auger I should just be OK with $5 or more gas? Because some politicians who most likely use none of these things says so? How is this in my best interest? I guess I'm just supposed to shut up and drain my wallet. Does anyone even make an electric tractor? Or an electric generator?
