  1. I have the Sig 226 Legion. Awesome gun. Too big for CCW though.
  2. This Walther is sweet. Shoots like a dream. Trigger is not half bad. Picked up a Black Arch holster and have been carrying it... no problems with printing or weight. I like it.
  3. I remember Walt. He came to a Boy Scout meeting one year and dropped a bag of snakes on the floor! The meeting was at the gun club (Nellie Ayers ???) up Beartown Hill. Quite the guy!
  4. Congrats grandpa. I have two... and they are treasures to be sure!
  5. Now, that is awesome! Congrats.
  6. LOL. My wife is away on a girl trip to SD. Looks about right.
  7. If the subfloor (on top of the joists) is fine, I'd leave it. However, it all depends on your desired finished floor height and how it compares to any contiguous floor abutments.
  8. I'll chime in with my first hand knowledge. HF hunting (where legal) is fine in my book for those that care to do so. Although I would never shell out that kind of cash myself, I have hunted HF twice in Texas. I won the hunt in a contest sponsored by Zeiss and S.W.F.A. The first trip was to an unknown (to the sponsors) destination that only had about 200 acres fenced. The breeder pens and animals were not hunted. I shot a decent 10 point management buck. I did not complain as it was free to me. The sponsors were unhappy though , so I was invited back the following year to a beautiful lodge with about 2000 acres fenced. I shot a nice 14 point that was not one of their "managed" bucks...no ear tags! I had fun.... in a different sort of way. The owner and folks over there were super nice. The food and accommodations were first class. Would I ever go back on my dime? No way. I'll stick to our Steuben County cabin... it's the way I prefer it. But, I can say without a doubt it was not like shooting pen raised critters. These deer were all free roaming and hid themselves very well. The fence was primarily to keep others out... not deer in. It's big business in Texas and tons of cash trades hands. I seem to recall the owner telling me it costs him about 36 grand a month to feed, monitor and manage his deer. Taint cheap.
  9. Those H&K's are sweet... very well made guns. I even like the ambi paddle type mag release! LOL. Those and Sig's are my favorites.
  10. Hit a couple of gun stores yesterday. Didn't find what I was looking for (CZ 75D PCR or a RAMI), but did walk out with a Walther PPS M2 in 9MM. Cute little bugger, and with their current rebate, will set me back only $369. Not half bad.
  11. 2007 Yam griz 700 with the power steering assist. .
  12. Boy, you may have opened Pandora's box! Tick management can be very difficult, time consuming and expensive. The "government" is trying (sort of) to decrease the threat, but biological control using predators, parasites and pathogens has not shown to significantly reduce tick populations in nature. In the NE U.S., Lyme disease has been much more rampant than elsewhere in the U.S. States in that geography tend to be highly populated, have large host numbers, and when the winters are relatively mild, the ticks thrive. Your best bet is to be vigilant in checking your body, try to limit exposure and continue with repellants. Permethrin (for example) is quite safe with a dermal LD50 greater than 4000 mg / kg. Population densities of Ixodes scapularis Say (backlegged or deer tick) will continue to rise and fall. That's just nature.
  13. Ole Maxine is a real piece of work. A box of rocks would be 10X smarter.
  14. Anybody with a screen name like ants HAS to be good! Happy BD!
  15. Saw increasing activity of tents when I was recently up in NY at our place in the woods.
  16. Sounds like more fun than.......................... diarrhea!
  17. Good trailer... great price. If I didn't already have one, I'd be all over it!
  18. That is slicker than white rice! Congrats.
  19. Mid 90's with afternoon showers here. YUK! Wanna trade?
