The 3rd pic is the jumping coyote.

So, this was the first year we put out trail cams (2). One was over a hot scrape and from Nov 8-12 the action was non-stop. I had 10 different bucks plus coyotes, fox, raccoon, turkeys, a fisher, ATV riders, fox, hunting hounds and squirrels. The fisher was cool as in my area (of 8T) they are kind of rare.

Advanced Tree Stands has a neat stand design that's easier to hang. It has a stem that attaches to the tree first, then the platform and seat snap in. One variety has it's own ratchet straps (2) and the other uses conventional ratchet straps. The platform is one piece cast aluminum. Upon leaving, you can either leave it in place or remove the seat / platform if you wish.

American made rifles.. what's out there
bugsNbows replied to Al Bundy's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Henry has a "new" lever operated "bolt" rifle called the Long Ranger. It's available in .223, .243, and .308. It's sort of a copy of the Browning BLR wherein it uses a box mag so spitzer bullets are ok. Street price is around $850. -
All of my hunting rifles wear scopes from 32mm to 42mm. Nothing larger is required IMO.

Neat story. Better late than never! Great bucks BTW.

De-bone here. If you do too much "bone" sawing, left-over fragments are detrimental to meat flavor.

I too have an older Foodsaver. It still works ... most of the time! Am looking at a new one. The FM2435 ECR seems to be a good mid-range with good reviews.

A belated thanks. I was indeed in the woods for most of November. The wife and I tagged out with the crossbow... I got a busted up 6 and she got a 7. During rifle, I shot another busted up buck... they must have been fighting a lot. We are home now but had a great time. Brought back 2.5 frozen deer (left some meat for my sister and a friend).

That's the best I've ever seen that witch look. -
I'm a single shot addict. I have taken deer with an 1885 Low Wall and a Ruger #1. This year I will be bringing up my Dakota 10 that is chambered in "The Bob". I'm looking forward to getting it bloodied... hopefully. I'll also be bringing a project gun that has been a work in progress for awhile. It's a Ruger M77 compact (16.6 " BBL) in .308.

Arthropod "control" (including ticks) can be tricky. It's basically a manipulation of populations and management of factors to decrease numbers. It's essential that all methodology be employed at correct times and cycles. To that end, I doubt the state could do much other than spend taxpayer $. Everybody needs to assume their own strategies based on their own circumstances.

Great story, great job!

Ah, the old tang safety. That's a nice rifle! Hope it moves for you quickly.

BTW, FYI it's called Lyme disease... the other lime is a fruit! LOL

Rocky Silent Hunter Boots
bugsNbows replied to fasteddie's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I've given up on Rocky boots. My last pair had the sole literally fall off in the woods. Must be cheap Chinese glue.
