  1. My age was still in the single digits when I first saw "Friday The 13th" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and I never grew up with any urges to wear a mask and start slashing people up. But of course, my parents instill so much "right and wrong" in me that I was able to tell early on the difference between reality and make-believe.
  2. It's on thing to share the road with them if they're following proper etiquette. I don't mind that. It's another when they don't follow any of the traffic rules and then expect you to comply to them.

Sorry about your bike, Paula but I'm glad that at least you're okay.
  4. Excuse my rant but... Society has started viewing teenage pregnancies as more and more "acceptable" and less horrific. I was stuck in traffic the other day and saw a toddler climbing on top of a newspaper booth. The young mother was sitting off to the side talking on her cellphone and not paying any kind of attention to this toddler. She had other priorities it seems. I can't speak for others so I can only speak for myself. My wife and I had long discussions on when we would have a baby and when we would be ready. We didn't start trying till we felt we had everything in place to be prepared parents. It's irritating to put in so much thought, consideration, planning, preparation, and sacrifice to make sure we can raise a child right and then watch others pop out children like if it's nothing. Top it off, in a way, I'm paying for both kids to boot and eventually I'll probably have to teach my child to defend himself against the other child.
  5. That's only true when that's all they ever see. I got the "belt" a bunch of times. Every single on was accompanied with a thorough explanation as to why I got the "belt". I was also rewarded very well when I did anything positive. It's a problem when the parent is never around and the only time they "show up" is to pull out the "belt".
  6. I use to drive pass Niagra a lot when I went to school in Detroit. Most of the time I take I-80 but sometimes I would cut through Canada. I also spent half a year in Toronto so every time I drove back to NY I would cross it. I never appreciated it because it was always there. Most I would do is make a pit stop and look over the ledge. 75% of the time it was at night so I only could see the color lights. Now that I don't have to cross it anymore, all of a sudden I want to visit it. Weird, right? I regret no actually stopping and doing the actual tourist thing.
  7. It all depend on my mood. My staples are plain cheese slice, margarita slice, lasagna slice, spinach slice, or topped with mushroom and sausage.
  8. Tell your wife it costs $1000...then come home from the class with a new bow for yourself.
  9. This is getting serious. http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/tick-bite-caused-death-hudson-valley-teen-doctors-article-1.1433604
  10. FOB has a completely different meaning for us immigrants.
  11. Nothing wrong with the pyramid scheme. Its legal and if you have the talent for it you can make a ton of easy money. The trick is some people have the talent for it and some don't. But that's the mistake every one makes all the time, no? This guys succeeded in doing this why can't I? And then they never put in the kind of work and determination as the person who succeeded and they blame it on the system.
  12. Ponzi scheme is different from pyramid scheme. Ponzi, you're taking money from people, moving it around, and making people think they're making money when they're not. In the end, you take the money, fake an investment collapse, and run off with the money. In a pyramid scheme (which unlike the Ponzi, is legal), you're recruiting sales men to sale for you. You're getting people to sell a 90¢ product for $1. They keep 7¢ from the profit and you get 2¢, 1¢ goes to whoever recruited you. The key to make it work is be able to recruit a ton of people who can be great door to door sales men and can recruit a bunch of other people. Only special people can make it work for them. Most people only have a tight circle of friends and you end up recruiting amongst each other and trying to sell to each other. When that happens, the pyramid collapses.
  13. Is that one of those pyramid schemes?
  14. Frontline is a liquid med for pets. You pour it on their skin and it gets absorbed into their system making the pet itself a flea/tick repellant. Works great on my dog. Don't know if I want to use that on myself without medical approval. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  15. All this sign does is to tell the thieves to wear a mask and a hoodie when they decide to break in.
  16. I have a backpack that has certain items in it that I never take out (first aid kit, compass, fire starter, paracord, leatherman, GPS, extra batteries, flash light that uses the same batteries). So whenever I head out into the woods for anything, I grab that bag, throw in a bottle of water, a pair of binos, and some snacks and I'm good to go.
  17. Dinsdale, I've been averaging a new one every 5 months. I should stop...or I shouldn't. Very addicting. I think I need a Marlin Guide gun in 45-70 next. You know, just in case I run into an Alaskan Brown Bear while hunting near NYC. I certainly don't want to get mauled by a giant Brown Bear, do I?
  18. Welcome aboard. Yes, patience is key. A lot of luck involved. Took me till my 3rd season to get one. Experience increases your odds but it's still the luck of the draw sometimes.
  19. The one and only reason why you should not buy another gun is if the money could have been used to buy an even better gun.
  20. Came across this. Almost twice the amount of cholesterol but it appears to be countered by points 5 and 6 on this sheet. I also eat tons of shellfish which is supposedly also high in cholesterol. http://www.huntingfortomorrow.com/HFTF_Home/FACT%20SHEETS/FS%2015%20Oct%2008.pdf
  21. How would the heart be any different than any other muscle type meat on a deer? It's not like the liver or kidneys that has bile and toxins pass through it. The heart gets fed nothing but blood like any other cut of meat.
  22. Used it 3 times. Twice, it was a great experience. Once, it sucked. I bought a scope and after I sent the money, I never got a response or the product so I sent several other follow up emails. Finally, after 2 weeks, he writes back that he is on vacation in Cancun and thought he sent it before he left. I finally got the scope a little over a month after I sent the money. The scope was as advertised so at least that was good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  23. Drop aways gives better flight and speed. Whiskers gives better convenience. With whiskers, you can stalk easier with an arrow nocked where as with a drop away, the arrow will bounce around if you're holding the bow in odd angles while hiking through the woods. 24. I'm going to speculate that many of those knocking on Chief and Joseph are old and never worked out in their life. 300-500 pushups/pullups a week is very obtainable. I use to do 50 push ups non-stop each time I want a real workout. My max was 78 and I consider myself to be average. My friend who use to fight in martial art competitions competitively use to do 100 push ups in one set. Of course that was when I was in my teens and my 20's. Can't do that now as I haven't been back at the gym regularly in almost 2 years but I'll probably take me a couple of months of serious gym time to get back to the level chief described. The pulls ups would give me trouble as I could never do more than 20 at a time and right now, I have a tough time squeezing out 8 a set. Still, if I did 3 sets of 8 a day once in the morning, then another in the evening, that's 48 in one day. 7 days, that's 336. And that's at me right now in my worst shape. Note: I know this is a bad comparison but I also have a friend who has is currently locked up. He does 200 pull ups (5 sets of 20 wide grip and 5 sets of 20 close grip) each and every day and that's not even his work out. He hits the weight room when he wants to work out.
