Late to the party AND I don't work from home either and don't think the nature of my job would be successful from home but I sure as hell would love to be able to do it maybe a day or two a week when I know I just have stuff to get done and don't need the office interaction to be successful. It would save me a 35 min drive each way and leave me with a lot more free time at home. I'm at the point in my career that I really don't get paid to bust my ass and work as hard as I possibly can, I get paid because of what I know and how well I know it. Most weeks I put in 40 hours of work and that's it. Sometimes it's 42 and sometimes its 38. Just depends on what going on. The days of 50-60 hours are long gone. My wife started to work from home during covid and was made permanent work from home sometime around the end of 2021. She's set up with a dedicated workspace in the house with a desk her laptop and 2 monitors. She works hard from home and even with working hard still her mental aspect about work has changed dramatically. I use to wonder why she still did her job as she did nothing but complain about it when she was working in the office. Now while she still gets frustrated it's nothing like it was before. Something about working from home has changed her view. She can pretty much set her own hours and they don't want people working OT so by the time Friday comes she can only work 4-6 hours that day before she hits 40 hours and she absolutely loves it. I'm a little jealous because she's home when the kids get on and off the school bus and gets to talk to them for a little bit before starting work again. If the kids need to go somewhere she can just clock out and take care of personal business then clock back in all the while I'm slugging it to and from work driving for over an hour a day a burning through $100's in fuel. I leave at 7:15am and be lucky to be home by 5:15pm.

So the fireplace is electric and puts out heat? Memorial day 2021 was awful. We stayed at Bowman Lake in the ADK's which was a beautiful park but no electric and at the time we did not have a generator. It was cold and did nothing but rain for 2 days. I'm so thankful I grabbed my buddy heater at the last min before pulling out of the driveway as it at least kept us warm inside the camper while we played game's and colored. We ended up packing up a day early and heading home because the forecast was nothing but rain for the remainder of the trip. That same year my in-laws went to Watkins Glenn State park and only lasted a day in their pop up. They had to set it up in the rain and got soaked. Had to stay inside freezing because they had no heat. they packed up the next morning and came home. LOL a 4 night stay turned into not even 24 hours.

Yep, stock up now on everything that you need. I assume with the new law this will be required for all online sales IF they will even ship to a New York FFL. I could see a lot of online shops not even shipping to NY to avoid the hassle.

F-150 with the 2.7 ecoboost engine. Only rated to tow 7,600 pounds with a 1,528 payload. No way am I pulling a 28 footer with a slide. Without the slide maybe. 25-26 footers are closer in weight and size for the truck I currently have. I could get a half ton with a higher towing and payload capacity but if I'm getting a different truck I might as well get a 3/4 ton and not have to worry about what the camper weighs and what I'm putting in the truck. Our friends 28 footer really has to be a deal in order for us to move on it because we have to factor in the added cost of the 3/4 ton truck as well. If that deal doesn't work then we hit up the RV shows to figure out what will work for us.

Thanks for the input, early and late season bad weather is the reason why I think the bump out is needed. We as a family of 4 have spent many of memorial day weekends stuck inside because of rain and that little hybrid while nice just has no room to spread out and relax. We are actually waiting until the beginning of August to look at a friends 2016 Jayco 28BHBE that they are selling. If the deals right we might just jump on it. It looks like it's almost exactly the same thing that you have. Only downside is I'll also have to upgrade to a 3/4 ton truck to pull it and now is not the time to be buying a used truck.

Lets talk more about that camper. Bunkhouse? Any Slide out's? How Long and how's it work with the family? We are looking to upgrade from our old tired hybrid into a 25-28 foot bunk house. I feel like one slide out is a must for that extra room but honestly don't know if it's worth the extra cost and extra weight. We are waiting to hit up a RV Show so we can check out a bunch all at once as a family.

Out of curiosity did you score mine? I put tape to it with my daughter as a fun thing to do because she insisted that it was bigger than the last one. Spoiler alert it was not bigger but it was closer than I thought it would have been.

When I got my first big buck I did look into what it took to make the book's and decided it was just not my style. Didn't matter anyway because he fell short of qualifying any ways.

Absolutely Rob. I think about it often and I honestly have nothing to complain about in life. Great wife, great kids a nice house and yard, good friends and good health. My hunting land is only 35 min away so I can head out there anytime I’d like. I was out there last week and will be out there again this weekend. Heck even my job ain’t that bad. Sure it’s not all roses but Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You think the 22” would be good for a family of 4 while camping? It got annoying cooking breakfast on a single griddle pan while camping. Bacon, pancakes and eggs took forever. Gotta up grade to something and it needs to be portable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Above ground pool... What am I getting myself into?

At that price do it and don’t look back! I have a love hate relationship with our pool. When something goes wrong it annoys me to no end but honestly it’s never a big deal. Couple hundred bucks a year in chemicals to open maintain and close and that’s it. Some sort of auto vacuum is a life savor for when you get busy and don’t have time. Did I mention at that price just do it and don’t look back? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Carry permits, jokes on you suckers !

Cuomo was going to piggy back off the federal system for ammo back ground checks. The federal government told him to pound sand. Without the federal system he had no plan in place for the ammo back ground check and quickly realized it was not a possibility. Yet here we are again all these years later talking about doing the same thing with no system in place to do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Direct from a reporter that was at Gov. Hochel press conference today. Gov. Hochul says "conceptually" there's an agreement on the broad strokes of a package of gun law changes to address the Supreme Court ruling easing New York's conceal carry law Hochul says “conceptually we are all on board with these” proposals with the conceal carry measures. She adds state officials have been reviewing the legality with think tanks. “I’ll go right up to the line, I won’t cross the line,” Hochul says. Hochul says the Supreme Court’s ruling on conceal carry was “totally out of touch” with what the state wants. Hochul says lawmakers will be acting on bills to restrict wear guns can be carried in Thursday’s session. Hochul confirms guns will be restricted at medical facilities, places were kids gather, public transit, educational institutions and polling places. Private businesses can affirmatively show they are not allowing guns on premises. Hochul also confirms there will be stronger licensing requirements, adding a vehicle requirement to safe storage law for firearms. In-person fire range training will be required for conceal carry. A background check for ammo purchases will be required, Hochul says. -

8U won last night finished the season at 9-1 and had the best record in the league. No trophy or anything exciting happened. The coach bought them all ice cream at the local joint after the game and got them all a medal and a copy of the team photo. I made sure to shake all the coach’s hands and thank them for coaching and making it a great year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hardest part about fishing pike with live bait. Never ever set the hook on the gentle strike always wait for that second one.

12u is all done for the year so that leaves us with 2 games of 8U left. Last night was the first of those two games. They where down 7-0 in the third and rallied back to win 10-9. Their batting was off for the first couple of innings then they found their groove. My daughter went 4-4 and had some pretty good fielding again. I’m looking forward to it being over for the year but I’ll also miss going to the games and watching them play. Last game is Wednesday but the coach mentioned trying to get together a little tournament with the 3 Alden teams this summer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Won their last game which is their last game of the season now that they won’t be playing tomorrow. My daughter went the whole season without getting a single hit. Oh well it’s something to work on over the summer with her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
