Just heard on news , dicks will be destroying remaining A/R’s
WNYBuckHunter replied to rob-c's topic in General Chit Chat
Screw them, I havent stepped foot in their stores since the whole AR thing with them started earlier this year, and Ill never set foot in them again. Runnings has been getting a bit more of my business, and Ive been buying online. Brick and mortar stores like Dicks are a dying breed. The last thing they should be doing is pissing off a big chunk of their customer base. -
You would be wrong about that. People have been killed and attacked by yotes, though its rare for people to be killed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coyote_attacks_on_humans

Winter Rye is your best, and most cost effective bet. It doesnt need much to grow at all, after I get done seeding with my ATV, I find it growing in the areas of the frame where the seeds get into. I posted a pic of it a couple of years ago. I plant it in late August. You will have to cut down what they dont eat before you plant again. You can use it as a cover crop to get clover going as well, just mox some ladino clover in with it, the WR will grow that fall, along with the clover, which will come back in the spring. Then just cut the rye down, but cut it kinda long, like 6-8" high and overseed more clover in there. Deer and turkeys love it. You could do it all with a weed whacker and a rake.

I can see it now, a Browning Maxus with a custom shortened barrel and choke outfitted with a top of the line red dot. You know you want one.... -

Ill just stick with what works. Haley hammered her bird last year with it. I just caught the XRs on sale and thought Id give them a try. I want to pick up a turkey gun at some point, so Im not going to put any effort into changing my Daly to use it for one more season. my turkey gun will have a red dot or holo sight on it. -

I was mistaken, I had purchased the XRs for my shotgun. My daughters, I picked up a box of Triple Beard and a box of Remington Nitro Turkey. We patterned each out of her gun yesterday, and the Triple Beard did just a bit better, but not by much, so after that box is gone, shes gonna stick with the Nitro Turkey, as its quite a bit less expensive. I shot the XR out of my 12, and I cant use it. It hits about a foot low and 4 inches to the left of where I hold at 30 yards. I rechecked with a Fiochi, and that hit just fine. Went back to the XR and it did the same thing. Ill keep it around to test with when I end up buying a dedicated turkey gun, but for this one, Ill stick with the Fiochi. -

XRs and another one are what we will be trying. I cant remember what the other load is offhand, but Ill let you know. Gun is brand new and has never been fired. -
I was going to say the same thing. Its the only thing that has worked for me.

Other than Kioti I looked at JD, Mahindra, Kubota, Case IH, Massey Furgeson, and LS. JD makes an awesome tractor, seriously, if you dont mind spending the money and want all the bells and whistles, JD takes the cake hands down. Mahindras are great tractors from everything I read about them, but there are no dealers near me so I never got to look at them. Kubota I only took a glance at, their prices are pretty high and their tractors just dont stack up to Kioti, everything is built with lesser materials. Case makes a nice tractor, just a little more pricey. Massey doesnt have anything great in the hp range I was interested in, the dealer told me that they feel MF is really missing the boat in that segment. LS also makes a nice tractor, but Kiotis generally get better reviews and have better prices. My Kioti may not have as many bells and whistles as some other brands, but it has everything I need to do the job. The Daedong engines are known to be extremely reliable, everything else on the tractor (frame, loader, axles) are almost overbuilt for the amount of power you are getting. It has a great warranty on it and the price just couldnt be beat. Add to that a very friendly and knowledgable local dealer and it was really a no brainer for me.

Youll get heat because youre right.

Ive had it happen with SSTs in slug guns many times. It also happens with my ML, as I use either SSTs or TC Shockwaves, which are essentially the same bullet. Accurate as all getout though.

Yes thats grouper. Kind of an odd way to prepare it, cant say as Ive ever seen it done that way before.

Right, and you need to master the same skills to be consistently successful with a crossbow. Shooting the actual weapon is actually a pretty small percentage of the skill set required. For me, learning to be a good archery hunter has made me a better hunter in all seasons, as I try to apply the same type of tactics during gun season as well.

And he shoots nothing but Weatherbys....nuff said!

I hunt with both, Im for full inclusion. Give people the choice. The sky will not fall.

Btw if you google electrolysis, you can make your own setup for not much money. It’s pretty easy. Like was said though, why bother for one small thing. Just use a wire wheel on a drill or bench grinder. No need to get complicated.

If you have natural gas, just get a generac that will do your whole house and put it on an automatic transfer switch. Buy once cry once.

Man, you could double your money on that real easy, and still give someone a deal lol
