Actually, the updates to most OSs are due to security needs. Eventually its just easier for them to rebuild than it is to continually patch things. Plus, how else would they make money? Thats what businesses are there for.

Windows 95 was like 20 3.5" floppies for the install. Man that was a pain in the nuts to reload a PC back then. I dont miss those days at all. I worked for a computer manufacturer back then, it was horrible.

Cool video, but the captioning showed just how little most people know about deer behavior. Seems like the buck saw his reflection and was trying to spar with the "other buck" he saw. He wasnt looking for shelter or trying to hang out with his "buddy".

Maybe not "riots", but fights sure did. I was involved in quite a few at Marketplace Mall back in the day. Some of them involved 15-20 people. We just didnt have camera phones, social media or access to every news channel in the world, so you never heard about it unless you were there or knew someone involved.

I always get a kick out of these conversations when there are kids fighting. "Whats wrong with kids these days" "I cant believe kids are fighting" "America is going to hell in a handbasket", etc etc. Dont people remember how it was when they were young? Come on, its the same crap that went down back then. I cant even count how many fights Ive been in, Ive had knives pulled on me, a gun popped up in one fight, Ive been maced, etc. Guns are a bit more prevalent these days, but only because alot of kids are too afraid to take an ass whipping.

I can tell you right now that we have big 6s on our farms every single year, and we have multiple yearling 7s and 8s. Its not a 1 in 1000 thing here, or rare at all. ARs would do very little in this part of the state, and thats the whole point that some are trying to make. You cannot manage deer numbers let alone rack size with a state wide law. Hell, you cant really do it properly on a WMU basis. Deer herd size and typical rack configuration varies too much across too small of an area. Education is the key to having success without pissing too many people off or pushing people out of the sport all together. Teach people the benefits of holding off on young deer, how to tell the difference between younger and more mature age classes.

Had a great night out predator hunting tonight. Took my buddy out for 2 sets, he’s never been out at night before. First set was pretty uneventful, second set we got there and spent the first 15 mins on some light rabbit and woodpecker distress calls and had 2 owls come flying in. They circled around in the field in front of us for a few minutes, which was really neat. After that I hit a coyote serenade and a minute later we had yotes lighting up a ways off. I gave It a few and hit an answer howl and they lit right back up again, this time quite a bit closer. I stayed Silent for 10 mins and then started up some female invitation howls. Just as the howls were done my buddy whispered “right here” and I looked At where he was shining. I saw Eyes and moved the rifle to that spot. I got The kill lint on and could clearly see a big yote on the edge of the field about 150 yards out. Just as I flipped Off the safety, he went to his left below a rise. We scanned around a bit but he never showed again. I tried To coax him back with some rodent distress but no dice. My buddy looked at me and asked if I had Noticed the wind had switched and was blowing right to where the coyote disappeared. Damn wind. He had a blast none the less, and had to head home after that set. After he left I hit 2 more spots. Called in a nice red on the first one, but I’m not supposed to shoot fox there. I had 3 groups of yotes talking to me on the last set, but none came in. It was such a good night I would Have done a couple more sets, but I have To work in the morning. I’ll be back after them after Christmas. Evan has been bugging the heck out of me to go. Hopefully I can Have some action while he’s there.

Iwent out for 2 sets tonight before the batteries in my caller died. My buddy that was gonna meet got busy with stuff and asked if we could go tomorrow instead, so I’m back home. First set I called In a skunk and 2 coyotes. The yotes stayed in some thick brush about 100 yards out for a few mins. One went out into the field behind a rise and caught my wind before I could Get on him. They came in faster than most do. Also had a Ermine jump onto my boot, which was neat. It was a short but fun night. It did give me a chance to dial in the settings on the scope. With the kill light on, I can See out to about 300 yards like it’s daylight. I have To play with the IR intensifier a bit. Everytime I turn It on, it’s so bright I cant See much. It’s great with the kill light though. Back at it tomorrow.
