I saw another site that has the same basic idea, but doesnt require the extra hardware. http://www.iqbowsights.com/ -

Yep. Also remember that the property may already be hunted by others as well, and rather than cause yourself a bunch of issues down the road, you might want to at least try and talk with the guys that have been there before you bust up their sets or ruin their hunts. I acquired access to 2 large farms last year, both of which were already hunted by a group of guys for many years. While I had permission to hunt the land from the owner of said land, I still made it a point to speak with the guys that already hunted it before I started hanging stands, etc. It turned out to be the best thing to do, as the guy gained alot of respect for me doing that, and we all now exchange sighting info, etc and help each other out. I also now have another group of hunting buddies, some of which have started to become personal friends.

Knock on doors, youd be surprised how easy it is to get permission to predator hunt. Far easier than deer hunting. -
The only thing that happens in the vacuum packing process is air is sucked out and the bag sealed with heat. The meat must have been bad in the first place. I have opened it after just staying in the fridge for a day or so and had no issues.

Allright, I got a reply back from the DEC. Here you go.... "Hello John, permanent blinds or shooting houses are not "dwellings", the term used in the Conservation Law for the no discharge within 500 foot law. So the answer to your question is no, blinds and shooting houses are not classified as the kind of structure you are prohibited from discharge a firearm within 500 feet from. Lt. Tom Stoner"

Thanks guys

fatal shooting in st lawrence county last evening.
WNYBuckHunter replied to bubba's topic in Deer Hunting
Shooting at DEER after dark is a crime (unless we are talking DDPs outside of open deer season). Just shooting or shooting some other species after dark is not. IMO, anyone that says they mistook a human for a deer, unless the person shot was wearing some sort of deer costume and running on all 4s, should be charged with negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, assault and whatever else they can think of to charge them with. The person should lose any and all rights to own any type of weapon, ever. They should actually never see the light of day again. -
If the temps are cool (below 45), Ill sometimes let them hang for a few days before cutting them, but I found out this year that its much easier to skin and start cutting fresh, or within a day. The deer I shot during bow was skinned and quartered and in the fridge in less than 24 hours, and completely processed and in the vacuum bags within 4 days (except the ground I made into sausage, that took an extra 2 days to finish).

I have found plenty of dead deer during the season, while shed hunting, scouting, etc. Some had been shot, some car hit and others were just dead. They do die naturally you know, its not always a bullet, car or arrow that bring them down.

I got my new to me TC Black Diamond sighted in and ready to go today. Im shooting 100 grains of 777 with a 250 grain Hornady SST. I love how the gun shoots, hardly any kick at all and darn good accuracy. Here is the final group I got at 50 yards with open sights (the high right and far right are not part of the group). Ought to be good enough...
