  1. Its the same for all of us, although I havent had to sign on yet today. Maybe John got it fixed?
  2. Yeah we got pounded pretty good today. The pics were taken at Mendon Ponds Park, about 10 or 15 mins south of Rochester. There is no hunting in the park, and they have an enormous deer problem. The main road that goes by the park is commonly referred to as "Deer Alley" because of the number of accidents involving deer. You can pretty much go there and find deer whenever you want to.
  3. I took my daughter sledding, and we saw a bunch of deer browsing on the way out. Kinda bummed I didnt have my good camera with, these are off of my phone.
  4. My list of Mopars is pretty long, those were just the Darts lol.
  5. We are getting hit pretty good today again. I took my daughter sledding, might have been the last chance we get this year.
  6. Id love to get a new bow this year, but I already went with a new slug gun. Maybe next year. I really like the Hoyt CRX 32 and Maxxis 31, and Ill get a great deal on a used one next year.
  7. Ive had a 62 Wagon and a 73 Swinger. Loved both, gave them both up at times when other responsibilities and obligations called.
  8. Thats different than what I was talking about. Ill try finding it again.
  9. Depending on what you want close but not there. about 15%. I want to support local but I have a budget. I will be getting all my supplies through them but I wan the Lee classic turret press and now Cabels's is the best deal I can find now. throw in 2 sets of carbide dies and an extra 4 hole mount and i am over the 150 for free shipping I hear ya, Im the same way about things.
  10. Culver, have you been over to Beikirch's to check their prices?
  11. You are too late Rocket, they already make fake bait piles. I cant find a link right now, but its out there.
  12. The Savoy was Plymouth's version of the Dodge Coronet I believe. Definitely not a 62 Dart, I had one and the rear fenders have a very obvious line on them.
  13. Baiting yotes or fox is fine. You need to call Encon to get permission to take a road kill deer though.
  14. Yep, its been going on for a while now. The owner of the site has been working on finding the issue.
  15. Well, I like to drag my kills into trees, but it usually involves a rope and pulley. ;D
  16. Out of my top three, not one has to do with killing a deer or anything else. Ill tell them anyway. My #1 favorite hunting experience so far was the first time I took my daughter out with me. We got up early in the morning, and she was all kinds of excited. We got dressed and went out to the blind. We sat there watching, munching on some snacks and drinking hot chocolate. After a few hours, we hadnt seen anything and it was light out, so we decided to go for a walk. We walked along, and I showed her the deer and other tracks. I showed her how to tell which way the deer was going, and what to look for when you are tracking a deer. It was great, we didnt get a deer but we both had a great time none the less. My second favorite would be from the first season I bow hunted. It was the first or second time out, and I was in my treestand when I heard a noise behind me. I slowly turned my head, and there was a group of deer coming in to feed on the fallen apples off to my left. I then turned my head the other way, and there was another group of deer coming in. I was so worked up that I had that many deer that close to me, I forgot to look for an opportunity to take a shot. By the time I got my head back in the game, there were 15 to 20 deer around me, all well within bow range. The problem at that point, was that there were so many sets of eyes on me, I couldnt move let alone draw on anything. I waited and waited, and eventually some of the deer started moving out and I decided to try and get a shot at one of the does that had her head down about 20 yards away. I started to bring my bow up and draw, and the movement caught the eye of a little button buck about 25 yards to my right, and that was the end of that. It was a flurry of white flags leaving in all directions. From that day on, Ive been hooked on bow hunting. To round out my top three would be another hunt from my first season bow hunting. I was up in my stand one evening, when I had a little saw-whet owl land on a branch just above me and to my right. He looked and looked at me, trying to figure out what I was, then flew to another branch and looked at me from that angle. For about 30 or 40 minutes, this owl just kept flying from branch to branch around me. From time to time he would fly to another tree, and then fly straight at me. A couple of times I thought he was going to land on my head. He was very close to me alot of the time, I probably could have reached out and grabbed him. Eventually he went away that evening, but I saw him 3 or 4 other evenings that year, each time he hung out very close. I didnt see him around after that season.
  17. Actually, do a little research on cougars, they do not drag their kills up into trees, they cover them up.
  18. Looks like it might be a 63 Savoy, maybe a Valiant?
  19. BTW, has anyone tried the small, hearing aid style ones? Ive been thinking of getting the Walkers Digital HD, but am not sure if it comes as just one or as a pair, and how you are supposed to figure out direction of sound if its just one piece.
  20. I wonder if they make a set of rechargeable game ears. Id buy them if they did.
