Stamps are good from July 1st till June 30th of the next year. In other words, they are good for one year. The Duck stamps are a federal program, so the dates do not coincide with NY hunting license dates.

I use one of the collapsible 4 legged chairs from Dicks. I tried one of the 3 legged stools, just wasnt comfortable at all, the front post for the seat digs right into your junk. If I were to bow hunt from my ground blind, Id use a 4 legged chair with no arms on it.

You dont get another tag when you donate the meat. I donate meat because it helps out others, and Id rather give them food than money that will get wasted on the overhead of a charity anyway. I have friends that donate because they are the only ones in their family that eats the venison and they cant eat that much, rather than wasting the meat because it sits in the freezer too long, they donate it.

trespassers/poachers? You dont need to own a water softener to buy salt pellets lol.

If someone put it there it could be. One trick is burying salt pellets that you buy for a water conditioning system. Once the rain starts getting the salt into the soil, the deer can smell it and they will eat the dirt to get the salt.

Yeah Im just waiting for my custom string/cable to get here, then its going in to the shop to get set back up. Ive decided this will be its last season, next year Im selling it and buying an Elite, either the Z28 or GT500. They are made right up in Henrietta and the shop I go to normally is a dealer. No excuses for bad factory support lol. They have the best warranty in the industry as well.

Maybe salt pellets or something like that were put in there, thats what deer do when you put down minerals or salt, they dig out and eat the dirt.

Youd have to sue the EPA, they are the ones that figure out the fuel mileage, and you cant sue over it because its "estimated mileage", not guaranteed mileage.

I have a Scent Lok getup, the only reason is that I got it on after season clearance sale at Dicks. The pants, jacket and hat/facemask cost me $70 total. I got a pair of the socks and gloves as Christmas gifts. Im not one to buy into the marketing of it will completely stop scent, but it cant hurt and it didnt cost any more than non-Scent Lok hunting clothes would have.

Now that definitely sounds more like what I would like to see. I mean, I am really getting turned off on these wacky near-fictional portrayals of hunting to the point where I seldom have the Outdoor Channel or Versus on anymore. The deer hunting shows have become only slightly more interesting than the bass tournament shows ... ;D Unfortunately, the couple of episodes of the QDMA show that I did see were strictly about the agricultural aspects of food plotting, and there might have been one episode on prescribed burning which I thought was pretty interesting. The ones I saw were interesting, but still not something that I relate to a whole lot. But apparently I missed the best ones that had content more directly relevant to my interests. Most likely, one of the reasons that I didn't catch more episodes is strictly due to the title of the program. I'm not really in a position to practice QDMA since most of my hunting is done on state land, so I wasn't really trying to catch that particular program. It sounds like I missed some of the better hunting TV programming. :-\ Doc QDMA is the Quality Deer Management Association, they deal with just about everything to do with deer hunting on that show. If I ever find a source for the shows on DVD, Ill let you know. There were 2 seasons of it I believe. Deer & Deer Hunting is another good show like someone else said. Its basically the TV version of their magazine.

There are quite a few shows where they shoot does. Bone Collector is one that comes to mind. Jimmy Big Time says that does are like flys on your leg on the 4th of July, they should just go away, they are a nuisance.

If my bow was in working order, Id be out there every day.

Doc, some of the QDMA TV episodes delt with food plots, etc, but many were about how deer see, hear, smell, where to find good bedding and feeding areas, etc etc. It was a very informative series. They delt alot with stand placement, water holes, all kinds of things that arent just for land owners. I actually was googling it today and QDMA TV is still on, but its on Pursuit instead of Outdoor Channel and its reruns of the old shows. I think Pursuit is just on Direct TV. I dont get it, so I thought it was gone.

Yes, Ive heard the same thing. I have yet to open one up though. The worst thing that can happen is youre out 4 or 5 bucks.
