  1. Those are two things that make for great fun! Great pics and vid. Looks like you guys got a bunch done!
  2. I used to shoot a pendulum sight on my old bow. I shot it for a year, really gave it a chance and chucked it in favor for fixed pin. If it was me, I wouldnt change it this close to season especially when getting a late start on practice. Maybe try one out on the off season. Im in the same boat with practice, cant wait for my new string and cable to get here. Just my 2 cents worth. I have a Tru-Glow now, but will be getting a Spot Hogg Hogg It as soon as the spare funds are available.
  3. There were 6 or 7 of them, those are 3 or 4 of them. I couldnt get a shot of all of them together, and you could see more in the woods down the road as well. They seemed to be pretty used to people pulling over and standing at the fence.
  4. Thats very generous of him, sounds like a great dad!
  5. I saw a group of them with a hen earlier in the summer. They had just crossed the road and were going through a ditch toward the woods.
  6. Its real, I ran across the whole set of pics on another site, here they are...
  7. Donated to the same program as Hunters for the Hungry as far as I have heard.
  8. Right on Doc. I think sometimes people either dont read it completely or think about it a little too much. I think its all pretty clear and straight forward.
  9. Ive always kept it to ladder stands and climbers, but this year I am going to give a hang on and strap on steps a try. Its the only way Im going to get a stand in one particular spot. I plan on using a rope with a prussic knot with that stand so I am attached on the way up and down.
  10. If its legal and you wish to do it, then do it. I am not one to condemn others for taking part in legal hunting whether I choose to participate or not.
  11. Nice pics, Ive gotten a bunch of nursing pics from my trail cams and I have a few I took with my regular camera as well. Heres the latest one I have...
  12. Farm raised or high fence deer taken on canned hunts are not allowed entry in P&Y or B&C. I agree with you though, any wild deer would be more of a trophy to me than one taken during a canned hunt.
  13. I had mine down about 60 last year. I like to be able to draw easily, theres no need for that much weight.
  14. As long as its not pouring, I like hunting in the rain, I always find that the single best time to find deer on the edges of fields is right after it stops raining.
  15. Are you really trying to tell us that you cannot buy opportunities to harvest trophies? You can't really be that naive? Thats not what Im saying at all. Nice try though. Well then Oak's original statement is not really a "crock of you know what", is it? ("the more money one has, the bigger bucks they can shoot"). It is a crock. Just because someone shoots a big buck does not mean they paid for it any more than someone else pays to shoot a doe or a spike. Money is not the only or even the largest factor in bagging a big buck. Not once did I ever say that one cant pay for a big buck. You done trying to twist my words?
  16. Brooks or Mendon? At Brooks the rifle range goes to 200 yards. Heres a crappy cell phone pic of the range at Brooks taken from the shooting bench pavillion.
  17. I use a vacuum sealer for all my meat and many other things, it makes it easier to store, it keeps alot longer and no freezer frost or taste. Like Culver said, it takes a little extra time, but its well worth it.
  18. They do the same thing in certain areas up here as well, its called bait and shoot. Its very efficient.
