    I have a chance to buy a used CVA Wolf topped with a scope for $150. It's 3 years old and hardly ever fired. The price is right but it's a lower end CVA. Is the gun a good shooter?

    Another great feature of the 30-06 is your range of ammo choices. The different styles and options are endless. A wise old man once told me, "You can travel to the most remote backwoods locations and forget your ammo. Everyone sells ott six ammo."

    My buddy fit a medium sized doe in the trunk of his wifes Toyota car. I've also seen him stow a deer in the back of a VW bus. Quarter the deer if you have to make it fit in the trunk. Just keep the head and hide with the rest of the deer in case you get stopped. Line the trunk with plastic (not a tarp). Me, I have a truck

    Depends on several things. I've always wanted to take a bear. If was first light opening day, probably not. Then again with a bear in the area, you won't see any deer.

    My self and the guys I hunt with all wear an orange baseball cap. Its always the first thing I see when we meet in the woods.

    I bought a .243 BLR for my daughter. Naturally I had to make sure it was fit for her. So I've shot 2 does with it at less than 50 yards with Hornady 95 gr. SST bullets. Neither deer ran more than 20 yards.

    My buddy goes to Gander Mountain yesterday. "We are waiting to hear from the DEC, till then no doe permits." So he goes across the street to Herb Phillipsons asks for his tags then walk out with 2 doe permits. Tell these license agents to check the DEC web page before they turn you away.

    I'm getting tired of going to Gander Mountain every time I want arrows cut down for my kids. So I'm looking to buy a cheap arrow saw. For those of you who make their own arrows, do you have any suggestions?

    I used an Ameristep Doghouse TSC for about 5 years. You have to put it up early and brush it in. I had enough room for myself and both kids comfortably. The sun began to eat it up, (which happens to all blinds). So I built a permanent 6x 6 foot blind for the same money as the fancy hub blinds on the market.

    I have a 4 pin. 20, 30, 40, 50. I only use the 50 for emergency's.

    I don't buy the apology post myself. If you read some of the comments after their apology, people called Muck and the confirmed it was going to HSUS. I see some major CYA going on right now.

    Years ago when I first moved to the area I live in now I was looking for a place to hunt. So went to the region 6 office and asked for the names of farmers who have been given nuisance deer tags. I got 3 names of farmers near me and the second was glad to let me hunt on his property as long as it was does only. I was more that glad to oblige because I'm a meat hunter.

    Not sure how many of you saw the Muck Facebook page that is blowing up the internet. It has since been pulled. Apparently Muck held a fundraiser for HSUS. Muck claims that it was for a local animal shelter but the shelter has posted that they know nothing of it and would like everyone to stop calling their facility. I don't know about you but Muck will get none of my business.

    The last I knew, Charlie has 3 different presentations that he performs. It depends what the sponsor paid for. One presentation is about QDM, one is Whitetails through the seasons, the other one is his personal testimony. The first time I saw Charlie I saw the first two. The second time, just the QDMA, the third time I saw the first and third topics. No one is going to tell you to run out and join a church. Charlie will just explain how his faith has affected him in his life.

    Nice thing about the Lifetime License, if you ever decide to leave this communist state of New York, you will never have to buy a non-resident tag.
