True or False (poaching a deer at night)
arrow nocker replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in Deer Hunting
The deer doesnt die instantly.I has time for its eyes to redialate after it gets shot.So i say no. -

arrow nocker replied to BizCT's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I would get the lightest one i think.Depends on your own personal prefrence.I have the cobra with out the shoot rail.Great for bow.But then again i hardly ever use it for gun. -

summit viper.Get some grip tape like you use on a skateboard and stick it to the platform area. And get a millitary molle pack straps with the belt peice to replace the chincy carrying straps summits come with. You can get them of ebay for about 30 bucks. After you do that then you have about the best climber going. here is an example. But you can get it off ebay cheaper. http://www.forhuntersbyhunters.com/2010/07/molle-ii-gear-for-your-climber.html I lock mine to the tree with a cable and paddle lock. -

cant you use the mini sd card and use the big sd adapter that comes with it to put it in the trail cam.So you can just take out the mini one out of the adapter and put it in your phone?I was thinking of trying this. -
great story buddy. You made that mans day.I bet that if it wasn't for your generosity he wouldn't be able to enjoy that great feeling. My hat is off to you.

Thats one hell of a buck.good job!!!

Spend the money on a good one.Trust me.Nothing worse than black pictures or no pictures and fresh tracks in front of the camera.Especially this time of yr when you want to know for sure whats in your area.I hear good things about the bushnell cams.Or of course cuddeback. Get a lock box for it and lock it to a tree with a cable or chain. Then you wont worry about spending a little extra for a good one.

Start my vacation tomorrow.Suposedly the neighbor missed a MONSTER buck today where i hunt.Probably in the next county by tomorrow though.Just my luck.Meh,i'd be happy with a nice earned 6pt or something still.

lets just face it.its not the weapon. Its how much you practice with your weapon and how confident you are with it.And how ethical you are. I lost deer with shot gun.I have only wounded a deer that i didn't recover with bow.It jumped the string and got fatty tissue from going through its skin above its back. I know my limitations with a bow.I practice and i only take shots i know i can make now with whatever weapon i use. Its not the damn weapon thats the problem. I have such a passion for bow hunting cause its is so close and personal. You have to have all the elements in perfect order.Wind, distance, clear shot and not get noticed by your game you are persuing. The challenge of it has me so addicted that i dont even care to gun hunt.To me it is a hunting of another level. My 11 yr old son could drop a deer at 200 yds with the 308 or 30-06 if i would let him.In his stinky foot ball clothes on and talking normal tone.Whats the sport in that?BTW.i wouldn't let him but you see what i mean. I hear this all the time about bow hunters. And the reason i first started bow hunting was cause i never saw deer during gun.I started bow hunting and have gotten so much closer to the animal i have gained more respect for the animal.I have watched them do their normal thing and let them walk by.Before i bow hunted i woulda smoked any one of them with my ithaca deerslayer. Bottom line.Have respect for that animal and dont make unethical shots. No matter what implement.

Moonlight / flash problems moultrie D50
arrow nocker replied to arrow nocker's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
I called and got a girl that said of course the simple stuff like check it to see if flash is off.DUHH!!!She said i could reboot it by taking the bateries out and holding the power button on for 1-2 minuites."With the bateries out"?"That doesn't make any since".So i asked her "what sensor was the one that was the flash/ light sensor".I asked "is it that big white round one"?And she said "yes".I said "you shure"?She says three times"Yes". Hahahah. That is is the freaking motion/heat sensor.I got the dang book.LOL. So i coverd the right sensors with black tape.So it should be flashing on every pic. Tried it and no flash. What a POS.I just bought it brand new and can't find the dang receipt. I got a 37 dollar wildview that is working day and night.Go figure.LOL. -
i hit every store around for wax the other day and they were all sold out.finally found some at a little sports shop in fulton. If you keep your strings waxed they will last forever. Funny how some guys get their bows restrung every year cause they think they have to.That must get expensive.

going to call them tomorrow. They are closed on weekend.I dont think i can upload any software on this model. From searching and reading on their website i might have to send it in.Sucks.Have deer hitting that scrape at night and don't know if it is even worth hunting this land or not. -

make or buy a lock box and lock it on with a chain.thats what i do.They might just come back with a big pair of bolt cutters but then they gotta work for it.Besides.Maybe they are too broke to have a big pair of bolt cutters.

I have 16 black pictures on my moultrie D50.the flash is not working.I checked it and the flash is on auto. This sucks cause i have a nice scrape its on and i wanna know what i have hitting it. You think this is cause of the bright moonlight? I have had black pictures around just at nightfall before. Sucks.Have had this camera for 3 months and havnt hardly got any pics of deer with it. I think its a peice of crap camera really. -
