Have cell cams gotten better?
Einsamer Krieger replied to SuperMag's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
Yes, by all means. So many to choose from than the first ones, so many colors and options, like linking them to your phone. -
At 5:30 am, today in route to work my wife decided to have a meeting with doe, dented the front fender and ripped off the mirror. Every morning I tell her not to play with the animals, i gess, she wasn't listening. lol

What Are Your Goals for the 2021 Season?
Einsamer Krieger replied to Splitear's topic in General Hunting
To be one with the woods and nature. If I score, well, that just sweetens the pot. -
Camo all the way. Been in camo for a major part of hunting, snow camo is great. My ghillie is old and somewhat ragged but it serves me well in the woods.

There are no exceptions to SAFETY.
Einsamer Krieger replied to suburbanfarmer's topic in General Hunting
Prayers to for fast healing. I totally agree with you, no excuse for not being safe when hunting or doing anything, sometimes it will bite you. -
Good advice for hunting. He was all old school.

Took my Hunter Safety in 1962, hunting ever since. Bow Hunting course in 1981. When all is said and done, my first kill on the farm was a squirrel with a .22, I was six years old.

I don't need any badges for my hunting skills. I had badges, jobs, Town, County, State, enough, badges for hunting, doesn't make any sense. After hunting since I was 6 yrs old, NOW, I am listed as a Rookie!! WTH is going on? This is very confusing and insulting.

Great memory, congratulations to both of you

I own a Model 700 BDL, 22-250. with Leupold range finder scope, owned for 50 years, great caliber for hunting woodchucks, foxes, coyotes and other small game. For Deer hunting?? ONLY if you know your rifle and bullet placement. Yes, I have killed Deer with my rifle with 50 grain bullets. Placement shots, shoulder scapula, takedown shot, heart shot, be prepared to track them for a ways. Practice and know the animal very well.

NY’s new big game law on wearing orange
Einsamer Krieger replied to luberhill's topic in General Chit Chat
Why can't the lawmakers just leave the HELL alone???? -
Darn nice. The work is outstanding.

Yes, I totally agree with you, the old skills are gone along with so much more. Now don't me wrong, I'm damn good at running shots but with that being said, a shot at a deer standing is still the best. you as a hunter, well, extra conditions come in when shooting at running game, like where is the bullet going and where will it end up and etc.

So what did you spend on a deer mount this past season?
Einsamer Krieger replied to First-light's topic in Taxidermy
I would rather save my money towards other outdoors toys. My last mount 30 years ago was around $250. -
Wow, now that's close up and personal, great shot.
