Ok... I've got a client who's lost all confidence in his mid '80 10-22 scoop combo. I've checked the zero on this 10-22 Bushnell combo several times. I've even set up a target for him to shoot. Bulleyes every time. He's missed or wounded several woodchucks, Chipmunks, ECT. I think he's pulling the trigger when on a living target, but he said no way... Now, hunter he's not.. but he has stated he shot well in the military. Needless to say, he wants a new scope. I've told him it's NOT going to fix things, but he's convinced. I go above the low end to outfit my guns with scopes, but I'm looking for a decent.22 scope for no more than $150.00 for his .22. So what should I get. If it was mine, I'd be topping it with a $250+ Nikon or Leupold.

Few yrs ago I was mowing a client's lawn that I had skipped a couple weeks as it was dry. I made a pass under a crabapple, and on the next pass I had to duck under a low limb. When I raised up, I was face level with a white ass hornets nest the size of a basketball, and only 2' in front of me. Thank God my Z turn goes 11mph forward or backwards, because they were highly pissed off. Got nailed 5 times. Being the nice guy I am, I knocked on the clients door to inform him so his kids didn't get hurt. He said he knows about it, and a pest control Co was coming out later that day. I said, so you knew about it, but didn't think to tell your lawn guy who has to mow under that tree about it? He just shrugged his shoulders... I raised his price the following year. Lol.

My go to for deer is 7mm-08. Light recoil, great for short range, but still adquate for the longer shot if needed.

My red oaks in my yard drop constantly. It's like walking on marbles. First pea sized, then gradually getting bigger with fully mature nuts. We can't park under them when the nuts get big. Had a 6 month old Jeep damaged in 5 days when we left it parked there while on vacation. Ins co refused to pay, saying there were no recorded hail storms in our area, and no way did acorns do that. Fought with them for 3 months. Then dropped them.

I've read it's not recommend to freeze corned beef for very long as the salt in the brine wouldn't allow it to freeze at the same temp as a non brined piece of meat. Haven't tested this theory, but it makes sense.

Did a large cook last weekend for my grandnephews 8th bday party. Unfortunately, I only got some prep and cooking pics. Was too busy cutting stuff to feed the 60+ guests. My nephew Shaun tended the pit quite a bit, so he gets a lot of credit for a successful cook. On the smoker.. 62# whole hog. Belly was layered with bacon, then stuffed with potatoes, onions, and sausage before we sewed it up with SS wire. 14 racks of spares 8# brisket Smoked Mac n cheese.

Typically BS in 4U. 225 total permits. The area is overrun with deer. Most of the area is privately owned for weekend getaways by NYC residents, and most of the landowners are anti hunters resulting in large tracks of land that are off limits to hunting. I truly believe some anti hunting big wig cityit has pull in the DEC and is responsible for the lack of DMP tags.
