Ok. Was at the local dinner yesterday. Two guys in camo talking about seeing a buddies deer on FB. Then the one said something I thought was odd. "Someone who won't post pics of there deer on forums or share them on social media, don't want them to be seen because there not legal... ". I rarely post any pics of my deer on forums. Don't do SM so you definitely won't see em there. So, is what this guy said typically of what the hunting community thinks?

I've got several friends that are avid hunters and won't eat venison. There true sportsman. Love the outdoors, the excitement of scouting, setting out trail cams, ECT. Just don't like the taste of venison.

If they couldn't cycle the action, how did they wear the action out? The thousands of LR rounds and most likely the infrequent cleaning this poor thing got during the days my older brothers had it caused 99% of the damage.

This rifle I'm referring to, has had thousands of rounds through it. My dad purchased it in 1945. He shot the snot out of it, then my two brothers shot the snot out of it before I got my hands on it. The countless shorts that were shot out of that auto, didn't do a dam thing to it. No, the shorts or longs won't cycle the action, but they didn't wear the action out where it won't cycle the LR rounds. Plain and simple, the shorts and longs didn't harm this LR only auto. The many LR rounds did.

Never had one hang up, get caught, fail to exit the barrel. IMO, go ahead and shoot shorts in a LR only. Not going to hurt a thing.

I've got a old Winchester ( can't remember the model without digging it out from the back of the safe) tube fed that is a LR ONLY. I've shot hundreds if not thousands of rounds of shorts, and longs through that rifle when I was a kid. Dad taught me to shoot with that rifle. Thing is so wore out won't cycle a LR round, lol. Wouldn't sell it for a million bucks. Every so often I dig it out and can still see dad's smile as he taught me to safely handle a gun, and learn how to shoot. Thinking I need to honor dad this week by getting that old Winchester out and firing a few rounds.

I've worked for a butcher on and off yrs ago, and our group of guys have harvested a lot of deer over the yrs, so I've seen literally hundreds of deer. Hope you find the pics. Love to see em.

This doe wasn't 1 1/2 yrs old. Doubt she weighed 50lbs. Shot and or seen hundreds of 1 1/2 yr olds. Not once have I seen spots like you mentioned on any of them.

Lost one shoulder and part of the backstrap. Didn't smell bad, just being cautious.

Definitely don't combine the two properties. Like mentioned above, one will be taxed as vacant land which will be a much lower tax rate than if you combine the two and taxed as a dwelling. Good luck on the closings. We still have to wait for the buyer to get her inspections and mortgage commitment before we feel comfortable enough that it's a done deal. The sellers of the house we want won't expect a offer with contingencies, so we have to wait until ours is pretty much set in stone before we can go forward with the new property.

Our house has a excepted offer. Just waiting for the inspections to be completed then it's pretty much a done deal, so not doing much decorating as we'll be packing stuff to up and into storage.
