For $30 a yr, check out onx hunt. Shows land boundaries, owners names, and the unit it's in along with the unit boundaries well defined.

What Could or Possibly Also May Be in your Hunting Area

OMG.... There real..... -
That's neat. I'd be tempted to get that hide tanned fur on. Definitely a first for me. Thanks for sharing.

I've worked for a butcher on and off yrs ago, and our group of guys have harvested a lot of deer over the yrs, so I've seen literally hundreds of deer. Hope you find the pics. Love to see em.

Thanks for the update. Enjoy the good eats...

This doe wasn't 1 1/2 yrs old. Doubt she weighed 50lbs. Shot and or seen hundreds of 1 1/2 yr olds. Not once have I seen spots like you mentioned on any of them.

Lost one shoulder and part of the backstrap. Didn't smell bad, just being cautious.

Puppy breath rules. Congrats.

Definitely don't combine the two properties. Like mentioned above, one will be taxed as vacant land which will be a much lower tax rate than if you combine the two and taxed as a dwelling. Your moving into NY, and I can't wait to get the hell out of here. Good luck, oh we need pictures of the cabin. We like pics.

Christmas lights and decorations. Whatcha got ?

Nice work sodfather. I've got clients that ask me to decorate, but once leaf season is over, I'm done. -
Any hope of this passing? Our NY Gov will fight it!!

Never gonna happen. -

Good luck on the closings. We still have to wait for the buyer to get her inspections and mortgage commitment before we feel comfortable enough that it's a done deal. The sellers of the house we want won't expect a offer with contingencies, so we have to wait until ours is pretty much set in stone before we can go forward with the new property. -

Our house has a excepted offer. Just waiting for the inspections to be completed then it's pretty much a done deal, so not doing much decorating as we'll be packing stuff to up and into storage. -
Few yrs ago I found a small balloon with some sort of monitoring Gizmo attached to it. Had a tag with info and it was released from a 5th grade class in Wyoming doing a weather experiment. However when I found it the 5th grade class was now in 10 grade. Some of them anyway, lol.

Interesting concept. But I can see how penetration would suffer especially if the shoulder blade is hit. And I can't see how it would add enough impact to drop a deer. I'll pass.

I never understood why someone would say it's a waste of good meat to cook it like that. Heck it's venison. Cook it the way you like. I know a guy that loves venison burger. He grinds everything. Yep, inners, backstraps, everything. Not a waste if that's the way you like it, and it gets eaten.

Well, guess my bday buck has to wait till next yr. Still had a awesome day enjoying the woods. Maybe I can add another day after bday buck. Yep got several of those over the yrs. Lol
-
Today's my birthday, and for 40 yrs I've done my damnedest to get a bday buck without success. This morning was no different. Didn't see a thing. I'll be out this afternoon for another try. There's always next year. Lol

Your Best Day and Your Worst Day so far during the 2017 hunting season?
mowin replied to TopGun270's topic in Deer Hunting
Best day... Was spring turkey. Called in a beautiful tom for my grand nephew who took the bird with the same shotgun and under the same tree I called in his late dad's first bird long ago. The worst.. probably the same day. Miss my nephew dearly. Was a very emotional day. -
I definitely switch from my bow season scent control regiment to a grab the rifle and go mentality.

I usually hate Dicks sporting goods but...

Can't go wrong with a 870. Fortunately, I've got a 870 for my grand nephews already so it was a easy choice. Really wanted the TC compass with adjustable trigger for $179 in 6.5cm, but they only had it in -06. Hope your nephew enjoys his 870 for many years. -

I picked up a Savage Axis with a Weaver scope (ya I know it's a cheapy) for my nephew in 6.5 cm for $200 after the $100 mail in rebate. Can't go wrong for that price. -
Lost part of the shoulder and a 5" section of backstrap on this buck. Not too bad, but couldn't imagine the pain that deer was going through. Definitely some tuff critters.
