    Ticks

Loaded in 4U. Walked through a small brushy patch with a client the other day and had several crawling on me. Buddy who cuts up deer said they are loaded.
  2. Nothing close to my area either, but hopefully I'll get a 4U tag mailed to me like I did last yr.
  3. Good luck Jay. Enjoy the day with your brother. He's right beside you.
  4. I've used both, lithium definitely last longer, and supposedly, the cams function better on them, but I don't believe it. Currently have 2 tactacam on alkaline and 2 on lithium. Been out since September 5th. All show 100%, and are working fine.
  5. I used to when I was younger. Seemed the more pressure I put on myself, it became more difficult to kill a deer. Now, I enjoy every hunt. Missed a nice 8 last week, laughed when he sniffed the lighted knock. Had the same 8 behind me yesterday at 12yrds. Doe spotted me trying to turn. Didn't get pissed. I enjoyed the opportunity and the close encounter.
  6. Sorry to "lure" you back in. Lol. I didn't realize he wasn't running as a independent also.
  7. So your saying I vote for zeldin on the independent line, Zeldin doesn't get the vote? Or those votes don't count?
  8. I agree. But most of the "experienced" comments on here is that is adequate in experienced hands, yet most of those I know that use a 243 are far from experienced, and have no problems killing deer.
  9. How will voting for Zeldin on the independent line be a vote for the left?
  10. I keep hearing " in experienced shooters hands" Yet, most of those that I know using a .243 are youth hunters or women. Couple of the ladies are better shooters than most men, but most hunt 3-4 times a yr and probably shoot a few rounds before the season. Most of the youth shoot more often, but neither are experienced shooters, yet they kill deer just fine with the 243.
  11. Well that's obvious. I was responding to the post that the 243 will ruin the shoulder at close range if hit.
  12. And so will a 270, 06 ect, except it keeps going and ruins the opposite shoulder too. Either way you ruined a shoulder or two.
  13. My cams are popping all day. Most of the pics are does running by. Probably getting harassed. I know it's warm, but the bucks are getting ramped up, and I seen several bucks yesterday afternoon and it was mid 60's.
  14. Possible upper brisket, forward of shoulder. Would explain only a few drops of blood. Solid brisket hit should have some fat on the shaft.
  15. That hair looks long. I'm thinking forward of the shoulder/brisket.
  16. I was covered up in deer. Seen three 8pts, and a couple smaller bucks, and probably 15+ does and fawns. Had a nice 8 12yrds to my right, but had 4 does underneath me with one sniffing the ladder, and no way was I going to spin all the way around with all those eyes so close. The 8's were definitely pestering the does a little bit.
  17. Ok. Arrow on rest correct. ✓ Vanes in proper position ✓ Jacket zipped up, nothing in the way to catch the string ✓ binos not hanging around neck✓ waiting for redemption ✓
  18. I've only tried Onx. Works well for what I need.
  19. I was definitely locked in too my shooting stance. Seen him coming for 80 yards. Had plenty of time to stand and get set. I guess i messed up somehow. Weather it was a deflection or whatever.
  20. It's on the lighter side, but lots of deer have been killed with a .243. Wouldn't hesitate taking a 200+ yard shot with the right bullet.
