My dad and oldest cousin,grandmother. I was introduced young my grandma would hand me my grandfathers old binocs so i could see the deer in her field and tell me his stories(he passed away when i was 3). And after the stories ide go look through all his old antlers. But as soon as i was old enough to walk my dad and cousin would take me along with them. Showed me alot of what i know today. They let me fail quite often and then die laughing and then they would show me the right/better way. But as i get older i teach myself by trial and error and i always keep my ear open for a piece of advice the old timers are willing to share.

Im in the same boat if i wasnt buying a house ide be going after it. My cousin has 2 and has a nice trophy room because of those guns.

Not sure. Worst part is alot of people blamed the store owner for not having his door pretty much welded shut every night.

Had that happen a few years back at my local store. Broke in twice in the same night and took almost every pistol. They found out who it was and knocked down his door. He took off in -30 degrees and they ended up finding him froze to a tree 2 days later. I think they found most of them. Rumor had he dumped most of them in the river.

I hunt stateland 95% of the time so im always scouting. I dont think you can ever have to many spots to hunt. But like robhuntandfish said try to have a setup for each wind if possible.

Well i guess i need to call my sister and order a couple dozen.

Yea im going to order them and a bow holder so when i climb the bows safe. I already no 4 new spots i can now get a stand into. As i told bill when i picked it up that this stand will be my primary stand all year.

Well just picked up stand a couple hours ago from Billdogge. Stand is in perfect shape you can tell its never been used. Want to just thank bill and say what a nice person he was and was nice to finally meet someone from this site. Hopefully ill have a couple pictures with some deer because of this stand. A guy i work with is a big gun guy and he was the one who pointed me in boyds direction. Glad he did. Im buying my cva wolf next week and that will get their walnut stock on it as soon as i save up for it.

I've wanted a thumbhole stock rifle for a long time now but just cant seem to find one in my price range. So i went to boyds stocks and found one for my h&r handi rifle in 30-06. Will be buying from them again fit the gun perfect.

Day startes out pretty good went on my weekly hike with the dog and my son which is in the picture below. Then we went to the New York State country hall of fame in cortland to see my wifes uncles plaque from when he got inducted his name is Tom Carhart. This was our first time going and it was nice to see my wifes family in something like that. They are all big music fans. The person who gave us the tour was merle matts who we ended up finding out played in quite a few gigs with my wifes dad. If you are a music lover i would sugest to go they also had alot of big nashville stars stuff there as well. Other picture is me and my son in front of waylon jennings shirt. (Son is named after him) From there we went over to dougs fish fry which i stop at whenever im in cortland. When we got home me and 2 of my kids played catch in the yard. Now we are getting ready to play board games. Nice to be able to spend that type of time with the family. Hope everyone else had a good holiday week/weekend.

I want a Cva wolf, any over under that wont break the bank, and henry silverboy to go with the golden boy i purchased a couple months ago.

Ill be out in it the whole weekend tomorrow is golf and yard work sunday will be more yard work or a hike. Might need to mention i work in a factory that has been about 95-105 inside for the last 2 weeks with 100percent humidity and no fan to move the air. So a nice hot day outside with a breeze is comfortable to me.

Im not close to rochester but thanks for the offer. And i had a climber i used on shag bark before so i know that feeling. And know 250 doesnt shimmy well on a tree or anywhere else.

Looking into a new climber wont be using family friends property anymore. Between the drive and 3 kids it makes it hard. So i will be hunting stateland more. Just seeing if anyone likes the summit, and or any other options for someone pushing 250lbs. This is the model im looking at.

Most of the african wildlife just no interest. Or any bear tried eating it and dont like the meat so they are off the table as well.

Only happened once. First gun buck but it was alot like your first 2 pictures. He walked past the camera and then i shot him. Ive had other chances just never able to connect.
