What is the latest you've ever started getting your bow ready for archery season? Was at local shop today and you would not believe how many guys are just getting bows tuned, arrows just getting cut, new releases some even new bows. There was 3 kids getting setup with new bows and could hear parents say they should be ready by am. Idk maybe its me but i believe archery needs more than 8hrs of shooting to be ready for the season. Latest i've ever started was september 1st and that year i didnt go out till the 2nd week.

Shoot one last time with heavy coat on to make sure all is good to go with the extra layers.

Saw a beautiful buck at noon feeding in green field today, when he picked his head up even my wife said holy crap.

Sitting watching SportsCenter just thinking 24hrs from now ill be on my way to the lease for my first sit of the year. Good thing im busy all day i dont do well waiting. Good luck to everyone tomorrow and today in NZ.

Ill have layers on planning an all day sit. Deer come in around day break and 11-2, then dusk.

Have an old mature doe that will check stands as she walks through the woods. She looks from a ways off then walks to the base of it sniffs ladder/pegs and looks up and continues. Quite interesting to watch her do it. Last year was 3rd year in a row i watched her do it. But since shes so good at it i cant ever shoot her.

All over. but i get into a wooded 3d shoot or shooting through trees at my house my groups shrink from say 3-6 inches groups to 1". Just thought it was interesting, should mean im ready for a hunting situation.

Bad grouping on wide open targets(middle of a field, lawn) , but i get into a shooting position like today where im balancing on a log at 30 yards twisted around and i send 4 arrows touching each other. Doesnt make sense. Anyone else have this problem? Im a little wierd being a ginger and all so it wouldnt suprise me if im the only one.

Wife makes me and my buddies a big pot of chili, and since my granny passed 6 years ago my mom now makes her donuts and apple pie for me and my cousin for opening day of bow. Thanksgiving is always drive day. Another tradition we have is after deer season we all get together and do some trap shooting and just tell stories of the season.

Looking about same for me. Now if the wind does what i need it to ill be sitting on the edge of my food plot trying to intercept them going to the pond.

Help my dad get a decent deer. Hunted for 25years and all he got was a basket 8 and 5. May be abit of a challenge. Hes recently disabled and got his license to shoot out of a vehicle. And my truck is fire engine red. So i will park it in the brush on edge of cornfield and find someway to brush it in.

10-20 arrows every other day. Actually took a couple days off was trying to micro adjust and it wasnt needed so i took a break.

Mine its not an exact spot but under any pine with a light snow coming down making a blanket of snow on me. Its instant nap time.

Best way i explained it to her was when she gets up on stage to sing her hearts bounding smiling from ear to ear that big note comes for her to hit and she nails it. All the butterflies and emotions she gets afterwards. Thats how i get wether a record book buck was to step out or a little button buck. To wait a full year(s) for that one heart pounding moment seemed to make her understand a little bit. She still gets annoyed listening about it though.

Yea thats how it is by me. He gets onto the amish next door hes as good as dead. I plan on passing him for now, but gets towards end of gun season might not keep the shotgun from barking at him.

checked camera today. I have a loan button buck that has shown up everyday by itself between 11am and noon. He seems to be decent size most spots are gone. I thought maybe first couple times doe just never came into view but hes been doing this for 2 weeks. No does or other deer come by for hours later. Is he alone? Will he survive? Just wondering.

Same thing mine says, shes also got the kids on bored saying it to.

I use them all the time come middle to end of october they go out. Had a scrape 2 years ago they dug it down 2 or 3inches right under the dripper. Ive also seen little bucks and button bucks go crazy jumping and running around it.
