  1. Hanging out with kids, cleaning up garage. Stops raining will go sight in shotgun and rifle.
  2. Had one come in as i was getting out of the stand that was it all night. Nice sit either way.
  3. Well going to try to see how hunting in a tshirt goes. Im hoping corn is cut at my lease. Winds right so hopefully between the food plot ,corn field, apple orchard and water i can atleast see one. Starting to give up hope on my lease. Been a long 4 years with only 2 kills.
  4. Took 3 hrs to walk new spot didnt see any deer but came across a few big rubs an alot of heavy trails. Will see how it goes sunday morning. Otherwise i wont be out in this heat.
  5. Welcome aboard. Dont turkey hunt but another good way to get some skills under your belt would be to take up squirell hunting. Might give you a differnt challenge for your pistols. Good luck.
  6. Buddy went out yesterday and saw 4 bucks and 3 does one was a nice 8 i guess. Me and my daughter when out today driving around and saw 10 out in the fields around 430ish. More than i thought ide see.
  7. All i can think of doing is start with wind in my face and still hunt the hole thing.
  8. Ok looking at new hunting spot. Theres 2 ridges that kinda of come to a point.(ridges are steep) one side has a road then more stateland. The other side of ridges lead to wide open pine stateland. Creek bed runs down middle of one that leads to a swamp then to an orchard. The other end leads towards back of cornfield. Creek bed is roughly 300-500yards long. So do u think they will bed in ridges or follow creek to swamp? Just bouncing ideas so i no where to start scouting. This info is off my huntstand app and a quick drive by of the chunk. This looks promising atleast for bow season.
  9. I heard this a couple years ago i hope its a prank but i know some people that would say the same thing.
  10. I hunt 4 main places. My lease i hunt hard during bow. I mainly hunt that mornings because its 45mins and with 3kids its hard to stay there all day. 3 main chunks of stateland during gun, only hunt bow on them during rut/late season. i just found a nice areial view of another chunk of stateland that i will be hoping to add to my line up after a walk through this weekend. But they will all get there shared time.
  11. So whats the full line up? Ive never been good looking at them to tell what brand or caliber they are. Nice collection though.
  12. 12 -14 years old just to get kids into it. Then like silentdeath said over 40 or disabled. I say 12 to 14 just because there may be some kids that want to hunt but cant or have a hard time pulling back the minimal draw weight. But ill hunt my compound either way.
  13. Sad. thoughts and prayers to the family members.
  14. Morning view. Had 1 deer come in to 50yrds looked like a big doe. Was great to be out again. Home for lunch then back out to another spot.
  15. Up and ready to go, 45min drive and then time to get season going.
  16. Just checked huntstand supposed to be 32 at day break, with the perfect wind for number one stand. Now i wont sleep. Good luck again to everyone.
  17. Good luck to all. If anyones taking there kids out good luck to them as well.
  18. Low one was from 35yards standing on a wet log kinda twisting around getting shot. Other 3 are from 30,23,12 ranged them all before shots. All ready to go come morning just have to double check gear.
  19. Completely agree, see alot of funny things at walmart the night before opening day at my local walmart.
  20. Doing the same as you well atleast during bow. Never feel comfortable with kisser button and having a mask on. Gun season i do just to keep face warm and im usually sitting on the ground more.
  21. Ok ive heard milkweed over last couple days guesss i will have to try it out. Get some tomorrow and dry out for rest of season
  22. Looks a good spot good luck to you both. Hope a monster walks by at 20 yards for him.
  23. They were all compound just seems very odd to me. I agree compound to recurve totally different skill set. Just seems odd to especially have kids not have months of practice.
