Had a federal audit yesterday and aced it. So day off today on the lake! No shorts at all today. Dropped 3 including one right at the boat. But all nice sized. Garden is out of control. Been so busy so checked tonite and all my tomato plants fell over cause they are just loaded! Hoping it didn't kill them or I'm gonna have a bunch of tomatoes all at once then nothing. I haven't had this happen before so put 6 more stakes in for support. Had to pick a few green ones that were touching the ground so they didn't just rot. Lots of Swiss Chard, hot peppers, one zucchini and more coming. It's at this point an almost year round season for me. Between the actual hunting season and then all the land work of cutting and mowing and improvements and I enjoy it all. But I will def get more itchy as we get closer. One year I didn't take the opener off from work and I paced and bitched all day. Lol. Even though I don't care much for the early part of season. i think a buck making it to 4.5 has less to do with hunting and the biggest challenges for them are injury, disease etc. Of course if its heavily pressured land where people are shooting smaller bucks but for the most part all it takes is a cut to get infected, a broken leg, etc. When a buck wears itself down during the rut and hunting season then has to face a long cold winter im sure a lot fall to that alone. because they are wary and wiser and also in less numbers all make them more difficult to find. To survive that long they have to be healthy and also have a spot that is safe for them to be.

your place always looks like a salad bar! Lots of leafy green stuff to choose from i almost brought some ranch dressing with me! I picked up 5 bags of fertilizer in the late winter im gonna add as well to our plots and help them out a bit
