When my folks went to PA and Amish country every year they came back with many pounds of smoked sausage. Haven't had any like it since. They got it from the same place every year but was a long time ago.

Don't ever stop posting that. My favorite meal of yours for sure. Can taste that from here.

just upgraded to an electric this fall and i really like it. i only spent $130 on a masterbuilt at Lowes and it has worked great. Consistant temps and if i fill the chip tray it lasted the three hours i had it going without refilling.

yeah i have places here that will do it, and am real familiar with Millers - my brother went to school with Danny- but didnt know the actual Croghan meat market did venison bologna? cool - thanks -
always money in advertising - this thread alone proves it. To put the draw in of a WR deer brings in interest of all sort and people inquiring. We are from NY in the middle of january and this thread has made 6 pages of additional possible advertising revenue.

Walmart sells the rolls in the zip lock brand for a decent price. -
I've made a lot of sausage but never dried and aged any. I am guessing this comes out like a pepperoni consistency? And what temp do they hang in?

Sunday snack. Little peppers stuffed with venison sausage/cheese/cornbread stuffing. And a favorite beer.
-
Damn stuff never makes it to the bears though.
-
Thanks. Yeah I also used to do a lot of brookie fishing. Was even thinking of a couple streams I used to fish and going up in sept and do a little of both.
-
Wooly you just killed that. Could tell from the first pic this one was gonna be extra special. That is your best yet. Just amazing.

Big crock of soup. Chicken stock, diced tomatoes, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, spinach, white beans and smoked sausage. Dinner for three days!

This thread is officially done. Mods shut it down. Lol

It's like any other endorsement. Info will be checked. Nike doesn't spend a fortune on an endorsement til there closets are checked. Would be the same here. A world record cert has the capability of making someone a very rich person. Catch the world record largemouth and your also gonna be a millionaire. There's a lot of money in outdoor sports. The biggest bass tournaments are hundreds of thousands to the winner. Beyond the endorsements. A smaller buck of 10 inches under the record or a bass under a pound will get attention but the record....whole other story. I would grin and bear it just like this fella seems to be.

and Tramp Oline is working at which gentlemens club in Ontario now??

i went there one time years ago the river was packed with lakers. Never saw that before. Only prob was they were out of season. We actually ended up leaving cause we were just hooking up with them over and over and were hoping for some browns or bows. Nice catches - youve been doing well - My best was a 13.5 pound brown out of there. Had one that same day that had to be 17lb - did a cartwheel out of the water and tossed my hook in the air! lol
-
surprised he sold it. If i got that deer I would have the bow hanging next to the mount for sure. Wow!
-
chris - you fishing the wall along bridge st? pics look that spot. nice kipe on those browns. I used to fish there a lot.

yeah that would be ideal. I know PA seems to have a healthy Bear population. And prob would have a better chance of finding a situation like that in the southern tier. The Dacks have sooo much land spreadout and so little AG . Even tough to scout during summer as the food source changes am sure those bears are on the move as well. Might be lots of bear sign near berries but once they dry up they are gonna move on. Would have to find some AG or apples or Acorns as a source.

im going to check some power line areas and back ends of swamps in lewis co area. During early bear there is so much leaf cover its pretty hard to see very far. Gonna see if i can find something a little open with some food source of an apple tree or two as well and hope for the best. Thinking still hunting that time of year is gonna be tough.

i have heard of people in baiting areas putting out big bags of popcorn - but course cant do that in NY. Maybe i should snack on a bag of popcorn while i am hunting. Yeah that popcorn smell is like one of those you cant mistake and would bring em in.

thanks all. Working on some ideas. Def not a layup to get one in NY but want to keep trying. But looking to get my percentage and chance up. Just looking for that one in NY. Thought about a trip to maine/ canada etc. But want to fill a NY tag! Right now i am thinking of a summertime scouting trip, then an early bear season day up north in Lewis co in Sept, then go for two days during early muzzleloader and stay at a cabin for a couple of nights. Gonna give it a try
