  1. same here. My Dad started out as a cook in the army, then worked a bunch of places when he got back from overseas. He was a cook at a place in California where he cooked for the Cisco Kid and Poncho, they became friends and they took him out for a night on the town a couple of times. Then he later was a chef for some fancy restaurant in lake George and the head chef at Colgate college for a while. Everywhere we ever went and took food - he was the star!
  2. that reminds me of my Dad at camp. Something he would have simmering all day and youd swear it was the best meal you ever had. He made a pot of venison stew with wild mushrooms he picked and cooked it over the wood stove. To this day - best meal ever.
  3. Had 4 last year walk about 60 yards away from my decoys and couldn't care less. Then other times they have rushed them like muggers. Guess you never know. I usually have the hen and Jake and have the Jake following the hen. Got two buddies that bought some inflatable decoys and one of them said "how could any Tom resist a blowup doll?" And he shot it when he took his turkey last spring.
  4. Best snow storm movie.......the storm of the century - Steven king.
  5. Yeah his particular set of skills is starting to involve the application of Ben gay. Plus all his movies are starting to look the same. I was out on taken 3..... Would like to see him move to more drama movies instead of kick and punch.
  6. My hunting buddy made a robo turkey decoy over the winter. Time on his hands. Lol I'm surprised to hear so many that don't use any decoys at all.
  7. I setup a Jake and a hen everytime. Usually about 4 feet apart and about 15 yards from me, and try to put in a spot where they will see those before they see me. Just curious on what everyone else uses.
  8. not a big Tom Cruise guy but "American Made" was really good - just saw that this weekend
  9. if you look at the other you tube videos recommended with this you can see they have several awful fake videos - blah
  10. Looks like an amazing trip! Congrats to you both
  11. Don't watch this it gives away too much of the movie! It not the trailer it's scenes from the movie.
  12. Had the same problem at bass pro. Then called the store and talked to a person in firearms and they said they would just order some for me and have them delivered to the store to pick up. So I called a couple weeks later to see if they were in and they said no we can't do that. Wth x2.
  13. Tom Brady. Now name the other quarterbacks in the playoffs...go.... Times up .... Exactly. Would say 3 Trent Dilfers without the defense.
  14. That came out great. I don't really have the tools for knife making so was looking to take the easy route with a premade blank
  15. If you haven't seen it, check out the movie "wind River" . Jeremy Renner. Wyoming fish and game guy solves a murder. Based on true story. One of the best movies I've seen in a while and something hunters might be interested in. Guy was a monster with his 45/70.
  16. Yesterday I had the same luck and frozen flooded spots.
  17. I have my first buck antler. He only had one. Been wanting to make a little knife out of it using the antler as a handle. It's pretty small though so gotta find a blank with a real small tang. That's some nice work there. Your a bone fide artist!
  18. Replace the wine with Keystone and pretty sure I took that pic in college.
  19. Homeade soup and garlic bread. Soup is a creamy tomato with sweet sausage and ricotta cavatelli .
  20. Went out for a walk about with the 20 g. Jumped a rabbit but no shot. Still was nice to be out. Might go tomorrow again.
  21. Anyone here ever try "good nature" products from Hamilton ny? One of my longtime buddies that's about all he drinks. A real dark beer. I've tried it and it was ok, a little much for my taste, can't remember the exact one he drinks. Hops are a big product from Madison county these days. A couple big farms sell them near Hamilton .
