  1. I love fishing and hunting combo trips ....thus hunt/fish. Just sat down with a buddy and texted another and we figured out a May combo weekend of turkey hunting and walleye fishing. Now I can't wait til spring! We are looking to do another in the fall. Last year we went to the dacks bear hunting and bass fishing and had a great time despite the record breaking heat 90-95 at the end of sept. But we are looking for ideas for a last week of Sept ..... any ideas out there? Looking for something in NY. Maybe rent a camp for a couple days. Right now we are considering musky fishing the st. Lawrence but don't have a hunting part to it yet. We will hunt anything from squirrel to bear! One year we did early goose season one day, early bear one day and then the northern bow opener and bass fished in between. That was awesome. Also have considered the early northern muzzle week and some fishing but since southern bow opens oct 1 now it's hard not to do that. Any ideas for some ny combo trips?....
  2. I just cooked up a bunch of perch too and a couple walleye fillets. Didn't take a pic cause they didn't last long. So damn good. My hunt/fish buddy was over to watch the Steelers game and we ate the whole plate of them..
  3. Buy a lotto ticket with the buck!
  4. The best thing I have found for a burger mix is 10 lbs of ground venison and a 3 lb pack of bacon ends and pieces ground up. Comes out great
  5. My former wife's family has homeade perogies every good Friday. Stuffed with sauerkraut and then topped with diced onions and butter. Def good.
  6. I use a 60 venison/40 ground pork. Since it's already ground I don't worry about it melting or separating. I mix it in after I already ground the venison. The breakfast sausage comes out great.
  7. Something different. Not bad
  8. Let's hope that "bigger button that works" on Trump's desk has a default on it " do you wish to annihilate the commies?" Or something like that. In case he knocks his diet coke over on it or Melania hits it while they are getting busy in the oval office..... Like you said gotta hit " print" on something like three different times to get it to work. So how does that happen?...
  9. Check out net for local clubs and a lot of times they are more than willing to let you come and try one out. A lot of them they don't even ask you to pay full entry or membership the first time so that you can see what they are like. Try one as a non boater to check it out. They can be fun for sure. Just gotta take it as fun and not too serious. Just like anything, golfing with the guy that throws his clubs isn't fun. Same for the tournament's.
  10. A friend of mine from a few years ago got on one of the tournament's on the st Lawrence with the big pros as a non boater. He said it was amazing. The pro strapped down all his gear cause they went 70 mph everywhere. He said his back was tore up at the end of the day. He caught 3 nice smallies and his biggest was bigger than the pros biggest that day. But he said the same thing the guy casted 3/1 on him and caught 10/1 . He said the pro was a great guy , even offered him some of his tackle to use. He said he was real specific not to cast up to his end of the boat but otherwise even helped him to land fish.
  11. Fished a local one day tournament one time where you could fish anywhere in 24 hours just had to bring on bass. Well me and two other guys went to lake the weekend before and just tore em up. Caught like 50 largemouth and some real nice ones. It was like an hour and a half drive. So we entered the tourney and went to that lake. And of course lol caught 2 damn bass all day but we caught 6 tiger muskies . Lol great day of fishing one way or the other and we had a great time, but go figure.
  12. I also like....."we can skin a buck, we can run a trotline, and a country boy can survive" Hank jr.
  13. Just made venison sausage and potato chowder. With white and yellow corn, scallions, asparagus and carrots. Warm up the soul weekend winter food. One of my favorites.
  14. There were 2 tourneys going on at the same time on Delta lake. I was off this point and caught like 25 smallies in the same spot one after another. Problem was I wasnt culling any cause they were all the same size. I did get 4th that day but shouldve moved to find some larger bass. But man they were hitting. Caught at least 40 that day but not the biggest 5. They also used to have a bunch of oneida lake tourneys but I get scared off that lake a lot. It sure gets rough out there. I fish mostly oneida as I live right there but I get off when the wind comes up.
  15. I used to be member of a local bass fishing tourney club. It was ok, but didn't like a lot of things about it. They used to switch locations too much or schedule a tourney for a long ways aways, then if only a few people signed up they would change it to a local spot and didn't tell everyo e else. I got 4th a couple of times and my buddy a non boater got big bass once. But you had to take a non boater with you that wasn't ypur choice. Which wasn't too bad but my buddy the non boater got stuck with a couple of real tools. My biggest dislike was just it wasn't as enjoyable as just a day fishing so I stopped going. Some days youd be bass fishing and catching walleye and i just wanted to still fish for them! Lol Had a couple great days on Delta and the canal in those tourneys where I caught a LOT of bass, it was some fun but fishing these days is more about relaxing.
  16. Yeah for sure. Flooding just a mile or two away from yesterday rain and 60. Today almost a foot of snow and 10 degrees. Below zero tonite and -10+ Monday morn. Amazing. Got the driveways cleaned out, now gonna hibernate for the day and do chores. Got some homeade soup started too.
  17. Exactly, you asked for a sandwich, not a salad, keep their brush to themselves! Love it. I also tell the waitress when they bring me water that " I'm thirsty not dirty, bring me a beer".
  18. This is by far the best thread I ever started. Glad to give TF the push he needed, but the best part is all you western NY guys stepping up to get him going. Pretty damn cool.
  19. Bet that is a tasty one. But I would prob have to mash up 4 or 5 rolaids to go in it too. Might want to call that heartburn.
  20. Sylvan beach is evac some people this morn. Fish Creek is over the banks. And we have about 10 inches .
  21. Not beer but it's the place to start damn it's been a long week. Gonna hang with Jim and Ginger then maybe a Sam or two.
  22. Carly Fiorina - "look at that face" -- thats necessary for his agenda and helps him out - cmon - you cant stifle yourself enough not to say these things . Your blind if you dont see how some of this is foolishness that just hurts himself and his party.
  23. and he would get more done with just a little less idiotic tweeting ! Not asking him to be PC - glad none of the stuff he says bothers you at all , but some of it it just ridiculousness. You gotta admit it
