  1. Looks like Feb 28th. I have a hard time finding much on TV I actually like but this looks good. I try to find some new series or shows to get into but I usually bail on them. Tried the new 911 emergency cause the previews looked good......nope .
  2. There is a new series coming out on the men that built America. The frontiersmen. Looks pretty good has lewis and Clark, Boone, Crockett, Carson . The one they had on Ford, Carnegie, Vanderbilt etc was pretty good.
  3. Maybe just find a spot that is having a 3d shoot and people can go only if they want and it would help out a local sportsman club. Then have a spot for drinks and some BS ing open for everyone scheduled sometime after that. Anyway would prob be a good time.
  4. One spot i hunt the landowner said last year when he was getting his sap buckets there were over 100 turkeys out in the field I hunt. Good to see so many. And 2 tags is tough enough for me to fill. But would like to have some April hunting.
  5. My Dad used to love it and we saved the deer liver for him. One of my uncles on my moms side - wasnt much of a hunter but did get a deer one year. He called my Dad and told him he saved the liver for him and froze it. So my Dad picked it up when we were out to visit, took it home and thawed it out......it was a lung!
  6. just an option to throw out there. There is a place near here CNY called Vernon National. They have a clay shooting course, also there is a bow shop that has a 3D course. If anyone is interested in using this place as a get together , i can get some details. The do corporate events etc. (also have pheasant hunting) The one thing about here in CNY is that it is 1:45 from both Albany and Rochester. So in the middle. There is also the turning stone Casino and Vernon Downs as well. Lots of awesome golf courses too. If someone was coming out and wanted to make it an overnight/weekend If anyone wants info or think that would work for the get together - let me know and can work on that.
  7. i had a GF that was into that last line of yours! but im bailing out for a trip to your place if its anything like that. lol! Or at least gonna need a safe word!
  8. went to a place in syracuse years ago - cant remember the name . Was for a bachelor party and it was a juice bar. Since it was a juice bar we werent gonna stay long, so I got a juice for the hell of it. Opened it sat down and was BS ing with the guys. Then noticed something from the ceiling was leaking right into my open juice bottle - yup No i didnt drink any thank god and we left.............
  9. yup lets make it more creepy. Was hiking out in eaton on state land and found an empty baby stroller...... not cool. Good - things - found a horseshoe while i was hunting and have killed 3 deer right close to that spot. One time in lewis county on otter creek - in eatonville - found 3 topless co-eds laying on a rock by the river I was 13 or 14 and think thats one of the reasons I liked walking the troutstream so much! And they werent all that shy about it either. They waived like I was their neighbor walking the dog. lol
  10. have fished Moose river plains a few times, but never hunted it. Lots of land for sure and lots of trails. Off trails a lot of it is way thick brush and hard to hunt. 20 years ago was up there with my cocker spaniel and walked into a pond to just check it out and throw a few casts abotu 2.5 miles in. I was sitting there fishing and had a bite and i look and the dog is gone. He never leaves my side. In a panic looking for him cant see him anywhere. I start yeliing his name! "Shooter!!" "Shooter!" over and over. I am back up on the main trail and see him tear assing coming towards me from the trail. Was so relieved!!!!! to about tears he was my buddy - had that dog for 18 years walked back out into truck and thought about what just happened and had to laugh cause I rrealized i was glad there wasnt a game warden around as I am yelling through the woods- "Shooter" ( Shoot her?) yeah not so good. lol
  11. years ago I was hunting up in Lewis county in the Payne lake area and i was carrying my Dads old knife. It had cleaned a million trout for sure, and i was carrying it with me deer huntign for luck. It was a sheath knife. I get back to the truck and no knife- it fell out of the sheath and was somewhere in the woods. And there was snow. I went back in where I started and it was sticking upright in the snow with the point in the ground. It was like my Dad helped me find it that day. And I swear - not kidding the sun was shining on it and it reflecting the sunlight. One time I lost my dads fishing pliers. Didnt know when or where but they werent in my pack. A year later i am in osceola with my dogs fishing and one of them keeps digging in the leaves. I am sitting on the bank and tell her to stop- she does it again, and again. So i go over there and look and there is my Dads old pliers!!!! weird. Both of those are now put away in a shadowbox with my Dads last fishing license and some pictures.
  12. they will be happy to see you too! they need some big city money - prob sick of getting indian casino chips and lowes gift cards for tips.
  13. Would be nice if they opened up crossbow in bow season right after......kids could bowhunt the whole season. Then can eliminate the youth weekend completely cause they can hunt with a crossbow. just sayin....but too much to ask for i am sure.
  14. Is there a local sportsman club that would host a 3d archery shoot? That would be cool. NY hunters forum 3 D archery shoot and BBQ or something? Just a thought. Plus we would all get to see Tfeathers and his new bow chops !
  15. Might be able to make this too. Would love to meet you guys over a beer. Summer would def be the most possible for me. We used to do a trip in the bass tournament club in was in. They had a friendly tourney for a weekend. A big cookout and a few beers. I am a newer guy so wasn't around for the one you did last time, but might be able to make the next one. Sounds like fun.
  16. they actually have drone hunting. They dont blow them out of the air but they hunt them......
  17. Whatever it is, she looks like a healthy gal.
  18. That was my first thought too. But figured if it wasn't it would be frostbite.
  19. Didn't have to be when she was a fawn. Could've happened in the dead of winter. Cows have even lost their tails to frostbite. I know last year we had a good run of below zero for a couple days and 2 years ago we had something like 13 days in a month it was below zero. Have seen multiple outdoor cats with ears missing. Also ears can get frozen without a deer being totally aware it happens. Once they can't feel from numbness the frostbite hurts after you start to warm up.
  20. It's been known to happen with cattle. Esp the ears. Not enough thickness to keep warm blood flow thru. Ears would be one of the first things to get frostbite.
  21. Quiche take 2! Easy boys......the package I bought had two pie crusts and had sausage and spinach left. So made another. And the first one was damn good! And this time I will use the correct culinary term of the eggs were folded in with the sausage, cheese and spinach! Lol I will be ok guys, gonna eat it tomorrow while I watch UFC or a hockey game....
