a post by Lawdwaz got me thinking .... what is your favorite quote/saying? Ive got a few but I like FISHERMAN'S OATH "I am a fisherman for life. I will always be a fisherman. It's not something I do, it is who i am. It is not a place, But a lifelong journey. It is a passage my father showed me, and one I will show others. When you understand all of this, you will know me, and we will fish together. " Insert "hunt" for "fish" also works!

agreed but dont think they will rehash him out for 2020. Birnie was a bit long in the tooth for the last run. And the one thing about Birnie Sanders is , I actually like him in one way . He was honest about his thoughts. I cant agree with him on about much of anything politically. But I like the guy for the fact that he showed himself and his platform

Like all technology the price will eventually drop. VCRs were $700 too when they came out. Def a nice gadget. In ten years they might be standard on most bows.

Take a poll of the general public and ask them if they know who Oprah is or who Mike Pence is. Tells you all you need to know . Hillary didn't lose by much remember and how much more popular is Oprah...... And how much better of a speaker, and not under investigation for anyhting, and how fed up people are with both parties, then the backing of Obama and everyone in the press......she would have a great chance of winning, esp if Trump doesn't run again. I think it wpuld just be up to her to decide if she wanted to take on the stress and the responsibility. I can argue for her and I am not even a fan but I think she would be the Dems best chance.

Thought this fall I was about to be attacked by a bald eagle. I was sitting on an island in the dacks and a heavy fog came in. I was sitting in a foldout chair and waiting for the fog to lift and couldn't see 20 yards. I was checking to are if I had any cell service and above me I hear ....whoosh.....whoosh and out of the fog is a bald eagle coming right at me . It was about 7 feet from me and was trying to stop mid air. Couldn't believe it was so huge and I was just amazed. Then it went up and was gone and I thought did it see movement in the fog and swoop down? Amazing encounter. My two buddies were like 20 yards to the other side of me and they were asking what was that noise, they never saw it.

New York Pistol Permit Question..
Robhuntandfish replied to rabbithunter's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I barely carry in NY cause of all the restrictions. I would be afraid to carry out of state and be wrong anywhere. I went and got my permit but almost don't find it worth it. I have just the one pistol for that reason. When I do take it I'm more worried about doing everything right than having the satisfaction of having it with me most of the time. -
color me jealous!

If the bandwagon gets rolling they will be afraid to stop it they may not have the choice or influence these days. Who in the dem party these days has the voice to stop in - Obama ? he would be her stongest backer. And Oprahs popularity before running is far larger than trumps for sure to start with.

the owl might have had the meal and the eagle took it away .

#1 - to refill the freezer with venison #2- take a decent buck , doesn't have to be huge. Didn't fill buck tag this year, passed on one too many. #3- get back on the turkey train . Didn't get one last year for the first time in a long time. I had to cancel a lot of may hunting due to lack of staff. #4 - fill a tag in muzzleloader season. Never gotten a deer with the smoke pole. And won't use it in regular season just to tag with it, would like to get one in muzzle with the muzzleloader. Lastly to have as much enjoyment out of hunting as I do every year no matter how much game I actually get in freezer.

How many types of game animals have you hunted in your life
Robhuntandfish replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
that is just damn impressive and probably a lifetime of great stories! About the only thing missing is Bigfoot , yeti and the jackalope! Def envy someone that would have these kinds of oppurtunities. Best of luck on completing that , dont stop now youve done so much! -

most everything in NY, but not nearly enough out of state critters. Hopefully one day a moose or elk. And i bet you all forgot one listed above --- frogs! and of course.... Have a buddy I hunt with, I swear he leaves the car and is lost. When we have hunted the big woods I tell him to sit in a spot and I will be back for him. Lol I've seen him lost in spots no one should be lost. One time i saw him do a complete circle around me. Kept seeing hin every few minutes in a different direction. He even told me how he came out in someones back yard and they yelled at him. His wife bought him a GPS because of this and he was out hunting and it fell out of his pocket and he lost it. Then he was lost for 45 minutes. I think I'm going to get him a tether and a post for his birthday. Lol
