End of season Hunting room/area cleanout
Robhuntandfish replied to mlammerhirt's topic in General Hunting
I have a closet in my huntandfish room that is all hunting clothes and gear. In Aug it gets washed and hung in a little shed outside to be scent free. Then brought back in after season. -
All their wives say the same thing - or at least that what Pygmy tells me!

how the hell is the record for Buffalo on 1/6 only 7.3 inches? thats a dusting there.

I would just tell everyone my Pics are "Live from the Woods". -
There are many coronaviruses. The cold and Covid -19 are not the same. A Cold is a rhinovirus. But i agree that life needs to go on.

Looks like Utah has done this now too.....https://www.ksl.com/article/50322171/its-not-a-fair-hunt-any-longer-utah-bans-trail-cameras-other-tech-during-hunting-season

Def planning on it. Hopefully the ponds won't be all frozen up on us by then. Already took Dec 5 off (have the 4th already Sunday). I'm eyeing those days to start as Geese and duck seasons overlap here for two days and by then our deer season there is about over. Looking forward to the new adventure.

Problem is it isn't like chicken pox. I know several people that have had it twice. If it was one and done I'd prob lick the floor at Walmart and get it over!

Good luck and get better soon. Thinking most of us will be saying this as well soon.

I bought a grinder to replace the kitchen aide. Grinding it works better but the kitchen aide works better for casing sausage. -
AAARGH! Nine months to go to deer season!
Robhuntandfish replied to Daveboone's topic in Deer Hunting
Seems like a long ways away but then I look at it also as..... better get to work on all the stuff I need to do, it's only 9 months away! But for me we could fast forward to April 1. Hate winter and am sure waiting for open water fishing again. -
In all my years of hunting I've seen one def over 200. And one or two that were close. The one I seen that was definitely over 200 I couldn't believe it. I swear it was 240. I was bow hunting and it was an awesome day but never got a shot off. Had two 4 points come out in a field and then they went down over a hill and I couldn't see them. Then 6 does came chargng into the other end of the field from a cornfield. Then to my far left a 5 point stepped out and behind it was this 9 point. It literally waddled across the field and it had 75+ pounds on any of the deer out there. All the deer went right too him like he was the king. Even the two 4 points came back over the hill. He never came into range. Tried grunting at him and he barely looked my way. Like you come here if you want to start something. Lol. Closest he got was 70 yards. Huge buck. He was twice as big as the does. It was almost freaky. Then had one a couple of years ago that had a huge body but a small rack I got close to a couple of times but didn't get a shot. Prob not 200 but a def tank But deer that big sure are rare.

Awesome! Congrats !

Cornell prob knows more about it than us for sure. I agree with a slot limit , might be a good idea. Maybe get a few more trophy eyes out there. 2020 is the best I have ever seen the lake in 40 years of fishing it. Either way the lake is def doing great.

That's for sure and the beautiful places to fish for them. Used to catch brookies in a bunch of spots that no longer have anything much to speak of.

Its all Pokemon. Lol

i would prefer to keep it the same as it is with 3. Ive thought about this and the days i peg a limit in 20 minutes it would be nice to boat another couple but the lake is just so good right now i Hate to see it change. The thing they need to change IMO is the statewide limit of 5. Statewide it should be 3 (except Erie of course). What walleye fishery is better than Oneida and can support limits of 5? I like the change to May 1 for Pike and June 15 for Bass. The trout regs get more and more confusing every year i feel like, but i think it is being very specific to certain fisheries is proba a good idea instead of being general. But really need to check the regs anywhere you trout fish if you plan to keep any. And often with trout whether i mean to or not, I have one that shouldnt be released except to the grease cause they are more delicate for sure.

https://www.dec.ny.gov/press/124339.html notable May 1 opener for pike instead of 1st sat June 15th Bass instead of 3rd saturday notable to me ...... wallye limit in Oneida to 5 eyes some trout limit changes etc

"Show"boat?

hunting is like anything else. Everyone has their thing- fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, skiiing, motorcycles, video games etc. All damn things we spend too much money on but sure enjoy. But agreed there is less and less outdoor activities that young people get right into. Not so sure they arent smarter than us! Sleep in and not freeze and buy the meat at the market that costs less per pound i am sure.

Ice? better bring the Nympho! Guys were launching on Sat and tagging em.

i will take them but i dont want to drive that far. So if you can get them to @Lawdwaz and he gives them to @Nomad then he gives them to @Lomax then he gives them to @Fletch then he gives them to @loworange88 that should work out- thanks

Wicked ScanPro headlamp

Was curious to know if the light made coyotes that are 250 yards look like they are 150 it's so bright. I've heard that happens.
