it s a great way to get a deer but the shots are usually at running deer. Ive had wounded deer running at me and had to put them down but if i missed it was on to an awful death. Its better if other guys on different plots push them to us. ever since the land was sold there are never deer running around anymore , the guy is a trophy hunter. deer movement is way slower in middelport.

going to go out and give it a go this morning. Maybe that big 8 will step out for a show, hey ill even take a doe.

I never switch. Its camo all season. I have a orange jacket but I never wear it. I dont hunt state land. I got my rear end chewed out last year on this site. still wearing camo.

i keep the liver the kidneys and the heart. Now i dont like liver i think its kinda nasty. the heart is amazing with a little bacon and baked . The kidneys are good slice them and fry in skillet with butter, butter makes everything better. they willl be like sauteed mushroom caps. so good.whatever we dont eat gets fed to the dogs IE. liver

i never even put lube on mine. As long as you take it out every once in a while while you are shooting it . grease just makes a mess. You should have used something like WD 40 or PB blaster. my thompson has the speed breach. sometimes i have to use the tool on it but after i get it opened once it just fingers to loosen it. I dont grease it just in case i have to bring the smokepole in from the cold and i dont want condensation in the barrel while its loaded. so grease just makes a mess when i take the breach plug out. All my loose powder get stuck in it.

get the electric insoles i think they are a hundred bucks. Or 1000 grams and wool socks. put heater packs in your inside pockets of your pants I use the hot to go they last for about an hour but require no oxygen.after a couple hours when the chill starts i crack the ones in my pants pockets it helps.

seems suspicious to me. Its dark at did I say dark at 5:30. This pistol was a thompson, not really a pistol. More like a rifle. But again its dark at 5 :30 kinda dark to see through a scope at that time.Im thinking that guy was much closer. shooting at running deer whithout any snow would not be my first choice. Wait until there is snow. then go get the kids to track it.

i have two pair of these. a buddy of mine had these things and he called them boot blankets. So I copied them and made these. They are super easy to put on, even up a tree in a climber they can be put on with relative ease. I used a cordura nylon for the inside and the outside and the fill is a polyester fluff kind of stuff. one big old military zipper`. My feet could be warm all day and thats with out a big insulated hunting boot. so they may not be pretty and they may not be camouflage but they cost me about nothing to make.

could have shot a few trees. but i opted not to. other than that i let a few button bucks walk. until a found the right one.Now if I could convince the bucks to step out into a shooting lane I could have gotten a four or five. I never saw anything bigger.

All I have is under growth and oaks, So it does make it difficult to archery hunt. more so than not I dont see them until they are just about on stand with me. Food its all about food and cover thats all they need. Right now the wet lands i hunt in Pendelton is full of acorns, they may be small but there is a lot of them. I have been getting fewer deer on camera and now the pics i get are not bucks but a doe and her fawn at 4 am.No feed in the field and i see no deer. tons of sapplings and small brushy undergrowth. and with the temps in niagara county and the wind, deer sightings have dropped off to nothing. But I will keep going out. maybe a doe will come through late one morning on her way to bed. Nocturnal deer thats my answer. I hunt near a new development thats on the north end of the creek and the west side is a road with houses that i can see through the woods. this limits what I can get away with, mostly west winds. tough location

Going to leave for the Dr. office. Find out how the shoulder is healing up and when I go back to work. honestly Im 50 and this is the only time I have ever taken off work. Except for deer season. Have not been seeing anything anyway. So after Dr. i have physical therapy at 1:00 then its off to the woods to not see anything again. Losing faith. no feed in the field its all been poisoned by the farmer , so they are not walking my way. I see well worn trails in the woods but no deer.
