  1. Yep 48 yesterday and by 6 pm. temps dropped to the mid 20's. High winds through the night. Rain to snow with a hard freeze up. Now, barely an inch of snow on the ground, but some nasty ice covers parts. Bright sunshine today. Yet another winter front goes through with no shoveling required.
  2. What food sources are they on there grow? Their nibbling the radish tubers here a little. I am also seeing some young red willow buds being nipped back.
  3. Supper nice job. I especially like how you positioned the ears.
  4. Hillary and her list of scandals: Health Care Gate File Gate Cattle Futures Gate Travel Gate Whitewater Gate Billing Records Gate Benghazi Gate "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think." - Adolph Hitler
  5. If I won, I buy you all the biggest dam piece of hunting grounds available in this state, FR. Then establish an ideal habitat for different species. You would all be invited as long as you can get along with each other. Think that could work? I think I'll just wait to get struck by lightning instead.
  6. A hammer press is a must. My leg got tired, however. High carbon and low carbon steel layered together. Three things in good damascus making; clean steel, plenty of Borax, and plenty of 2400 degree heat.
  7. I use to help a blacksmith decades ago. Today, I use it for a stress reliever. Take a piece of old steel and turn it to something usefull. To many irons in the fire can cool the coals, LOL.
  8. Good for you Culver. Your stoking up the fire on a loss trade. I wish you much success. I built my forge out of a old rear tractor rim center and an old fuel oil furnace blower. I use mine outside and found a three sided hood with a top works much better in wind.
  9. First time visit to L.L.Bean in Victor didn't impress me. I do, however like their warranty policy.
  10. FHTTEUS ( Funny how these threads end up sometimes.)
  11. Logged in a few hours of shed hunting yesterday. Found a hole in my boot. Deer trails still being used, rubs and scraps still active. Was worried about bumping deer, that didn't happen. Got into some thick under brush; my face tells the rest of the story. Main focus was to look for fallout from the season as well as car kills. An average year is three, this time around zed to zip. Good feeling not finding any. Couple local stubs lost a side or two. Quite excited as to maybe find those. Enjoy the new year and good luck to those looking!
  12. A couple inflatables, a bobblehead hen and jake. Placement depending on time of the season. I sold all my plastic decoys; to balky A trio for thirty bucks. My big strut tom for forty. Bought them out of the first Walmart, older than the hills. People placing them in their yards. Moneys money.
  13. Nice to see a turkey pic.. Once we lost the insects in the hay fields mid August, turkeys moved on. Turkeys always during deer season other years, just wasn't the same this.
  14. Some of the Lake Plains area is a non rifle area. It is also a antlerless only; early bow, late muzzleloader. This means one more kick in the .......
  15. Taylor has to much talent for the Bills. He'll be going where the money is.
  16. You have witness a halo around the full moon on Christmas. Something that hasn't happen since 1977.; won't happen again till 2034. Been seeing a lot of halos all deer season. Lot of ice in the atmosphere. Your right Wooly, know body seems to care much anymore. My sister in law asked what moon I was talking about, LOL.
  17. Have't had a chance to watch much this season. Their playing the Cowboys and I'm still seeking revenge on the Super Bowl losses of the 90's. Just can't let it go, LOL.
  18. Happy birthday wooly! Enjoy the zoom lens coffee cup. Just exactly how does this thing work? LOL.
  19. Sad to see such a waist. Far better to find the shed., any day. Just the reality of hunting.. Wish you luck in your quest!
  20. That BS Skillet, is coming from a high and alarming powerful governmental agency in this state. Who's really to blame for the decisions made forth?
