  1. Been out since October 1. Logged in several hundred hours. Been a great year with a lot of surprises. Shed hunting begins next Wednesday. Quite eager to find some points.
  2. It looks good! Not what one would expect for a Chinese product. A little curious why lock washers and Loctite were added to the hardware.
  3. Haven't seen one doe since start of muzzleloader season. All bucks. Maybe that's a "good thing."
  4. It depends greatly on the persons personal experience viewing cam pics verses real rack size values. It would be fun to spin off this thread with people posting cam pics of deer they have harvested, had officially measured; to answer your original question.
  5. Had the best sit of the season yesterday afternoon; all I could do is watch. Dam you DEC..
  6. He's got alot of gray on his face. I'm thinking he's up their in age some.
  7. Is that a rare one or do they all grow that black box on their heads, LOL.
  8. Might not be the best for deer hunting, but I'm sure soaking up this balmy weather. I bumped 5 deer out of the radish at ten to seven. I think they heard the frying pan bumping the stove.
  9. I do hope your friend has a better outcome to the next deer harvest they have. Hunters lose deer; true sportsman learn and apply to the next situation that may arise.
  10. You just got to like this. only @ huntingny.com folks!
  11. I rather enjoy hunting in these temps. Been plenty a winter out in 0 degree weather with a foot of snow on the ground. The cooler has room for two more, right now. Running a balmy 29 degrees at the moment.
  12. Ten came out yesterday at 4:53; sunsets at 4:39.Couple really big nocturnal doe too. Some really impressive buck fawns. Those radish are sure doing the job now. Their hammering them hard. Some great late season hunting.
  13. This Santa's still hunting for deer, right up until the 22nd.
  14. Can shoot a buck after Sunday. Considered a doe if antlers are less than 3".
  15. Just when I thought to have figured out these white tail, they throw you a curve ball, LOL.
  16. We have some nice material left here. Now, if we could only sew it together.
  17. Tree stand falls are more common than shooting incidents. Heart attacks happen quite often, but they won't make the list.
  18. We're seeing high scraping and rubbing activity for this time of the year. High deer activity and numbers too. Where did all the hunters go? Not many shots heard in days. Three weeks to long for most. Deer observed all 150 + yards out. Being in a no rifle area, the muzzleloader is the go to tool. Some excellent late season hunting.
  19. We eat swamp bucks quite often Grow. Some can be quite strong. Some can be tough. Try taking a steak and soaking in Pepsi over night. It will take the strong gammy taste right out.
  20. Last afternoon saw 23 deer show like ducks in an arcade game; either out of range or after sunset. Flocking?
  21. 1 1/8" was standard OEM. 1 3/8" is the newer version. Overrunning clutch is held in by a roll pin centered. CT sell the made in India bronze versions which are rated for 20hp.. Black clutches are rated for 60hp and more money. Have seen the cheaper sheer off.
  22. It sure is nice to read everyone comments. Nice sit yesterday in the thick of it. Five fawns before sunset. All the adults, thrashing in the cover waited till darkness to show. Watching this next weather front moving in. Be out a few hours before, as deer should be on their feet.
