Winds were stiff and gusty last evening, then dropped off just before closing.SW to SE to North. Doe poured onto the field with several bucks, one shooter. Their I sat, after hours being teased watching sparing go on for several minutes before winner buck breeds a doe. Did manage to snap some low light pics but not of the breeding. The third pic is 3 sparing at once.

What are You Going to Be for Halloween?
landtracdeerhunter replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in General Chit Chat
Going to go as a grape and get juiced. If that don't work I'll go as a raisin and get squeezed. The m & m peanut guy is out this year. The candy coating ain't what it use to be,. LOL. -
Does the neighbor own property? If so, tell'em your hunting on his. We had a situation a few years back just like yours. Told the neighbor if he's coming on ours, we're going on his. It all ended when we started hauling some fine deer off his property, and we made dam sure he knew it. Never trespassed again. Ended up selling the property to some real friendly people that don't hunt, but let us.

Nice pics. Any shooters?

Trio of fully mature NY bucks...
landtracdeerhunter replied to WNY Bowhunter's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Not at all. Agricultural farm land has great potiential for raising deer of this caliper. Don't discount NY. just because the TV shows totally ignor us.. Pick yourself up a copy of the 2013 New York Big Buck Club book and take a gander inside to amaze yourself! -

Fall 3-4 acres of Daikon Radish 35 lb of seed , 100 lb of 46-0-0 fert wheat and oats with a grass mixture to be red clover mix above in 2015 Like to try some new alternatives tbd.. -
The pics posted were from last Sunday morn.. Haven't seen a turkey since and believe these have moved on also. The canopy is thinning which I believe has an influence here.

Deer season seems to shadow the fall turkey season. Enjoy the Fall turkey season everyone! If big Tom Thumb walks close enough, as these poults and hens were, he's going down, LOL.

Not a fan for lugging out those clumsy 3d targets, as the Montanas are so much easier to carry. We use them on brush lines where good runs are. Gives enough time for a shot, as it gains the deer attention towards the decoy and away from us. Also have set them up in larger field applications against brush. Mixed results still coming in. It's funny how on one farm, deer like them, and on the other, they have no use for them, what so ever. I do know that the 3d ones don't fool our deer at all anywhere , for some reason. . I also spray them with deer dander from hides.

Have the Montanas out desenting nicely in these heavy rains we've been getting every evening.

Think you're going to need a bigger wall Eddie. This farming equipment is getting hugh. Saw a new Deere S680 combine the other day that makes that 9600 look small, 400 bushel grain tank. I can't even imagine driving it down a state highway, without the headers.

Think maybe u got the general idea on the stands. But some of our best spots and best deer have been takened from the ground.

I decided not to go out. First morning since opener missed. I suppose all hells breaking loose out there without my presents, LOL.

I'm free open and don't take to getting stuck in a rut. Get out, expand your horizons, and take some different stances. Think like a deer and you'll see' em. And for God sake, ENJOY!

LOL., goverment interference at its finest! Maybe has to do with the goverment shutdown? -
Hunt the back furrows. I took a nice doe on a back furrow one year. Much easier walking then trying to cross the furrows.

I hate having to pass gas. How can one deer hunt when u have the stinky farts!

that went a field this past weekend during the youth deer hunt! Your memories will last a lifetime!

Niagara County has a lot of scumbag criminals living in it. I given up on the whole thing. Putting cameras and tree stand out, a thing of the past for me.
