  1. It can in a higher wind situration, but I just tie the tails with a piece of kite string and stake the other end to the ground with a stick. Had one episode where a jake got tangled in the string and dragged the whole works off into the brush. It was quite comical and he did get loose, but he didn't like that hen anymore, LOL. I also control movement with another piece of string to the blind, sometimes.
  2. You're defying gravity, LOL. Hope they grow good for u.
  3. They look in good shape. Bet their getting sick of winter too. They have been on the year old red clover seeding here. Got it nipped right to the ground. Can't wait for a warm rain.
  4. Got the Cherokee 3 hens and a jake. Use old arrows to support. Watched one, last year deflate in a few hours, darn berry bushes.
  5. No worse than skunk. I'd like to put Punxsutawney Phil in the stew pot for his early Spring prediction, LOL.
  6. Last year, we got some nice hatches. The turkey needed it. This year may be more normal?

    Pet's

Not a pet, but I was going to try some taxidermy work on some chickens. Thought it would be great practice when I get a nice turkey.
  8. The staining of the tarsal could be the result of January- February late breeding.
  9. Doc, You're Peach tree description sounds similar to what is on my trees: My Redhaven tree doesn't have it- yet. Been treating infected trees for 2 years now with slow improvement. Peach Leaf Curl Management Guidelines--UC IPM.htm
  10. Liberal government knows what is good for it's people. Did into your pockets people and get ready to pay for Obama Care. Oh, you're gonna pay!
  11. Last years was a nice one. Did ever get the mount back? This deer sure has a nice start, and being on the downhill side of winter, I'll say the odds of survival are stacked on his side.
  12. Maybe these questions have been asked before, nothing came up on the search. Do our hunting, fishing, trapping license become public record? Do our names go on mailing list or some other form of release? The reason I ask; I took a NYS trapping coarse last year. Received the certificate, but never got the license. Now I'm receiving trapping books in the mail. I have gone on a few trapping supplier sites, but never filled in anything. Strange thing too, the books I'm receiving are not from the companies visited online. Ed; SP
  13. Shows how incompetent our lawmakers really are. These people are running our state?
  14. I heard gobbling last night, but think I was doing it, LOL. Ed: sp
  15. This subject isn't touched on much. It's something that runs through my mind, every time a slimline deer is witnessed during prime growing times. I've email an interest to Dr Woods on the subject. He sent me a nice little thank you response.
  16. DYK: Most flying squirrels are nocturnal.
  17. Last year, was picking leeks 20th of March, with the mild temps.. This year going to be more normal, after a warm rain, say by the 15th of April, on the west side of the state. We'll see if I'm right. I like the first as they are the most tender. Still have some frozen in the freezer from last. Homemade leek soup, with croutons and cheese, OMG. I also look for wild onion.
  18. I thought the law stated that a semi-automatic shotgun had to have a detachable magazine plus one of the stocks features u listed? Now I'm not sure I understand this law. Edit, sp
