    I was waiting for the leaves to stick in the paint when dry. I wonder if Rust-Oleum oil based enamels would work as well for swirling ?

    You did a super nice job. That is the way to mount the tail. Was never to keen on the salt way either. Had one in the freezer for about 3 years now. Don't even know if it's any good. Don't know if it any good? Maybe try. Thanks for posting and info.

    Found my very first one Saturday. A little 2 point on a very heavily used deer trail. Mind you, I've been looking hard for years with not even a speck of bone. It seemed like a a 10 point to me, the way I felt. We had 10 deer in the field outside the house, on Saturday evening, 1 still wearing his headgear.

    Having a Crossbow section seperate from Archery, is no different than having a Muzzleloader section seperate from Riffle and Gun Discussions. It may, in fact, spur some very good discussions on the issue. Makes a common place to relate back to for past threads. Edit

    Nice. Will you use it for hunting too? Access some of those hard to reach areas, only by boat.

    Shooting a video by youself, while hunting is a challenge. I have shot some footage without a tripod, which is just to poor of quality to post. Investing in a tripod this year, that should help, I hope.

    Congrats on the harvest. Never to late to talk turkey. Opening weekend was the best where I hunt in Erie County, N.Y. The toms were responding well to calls but wouldn't commit. Depends on alot of variables. Got to use the call they want to hear, and that doesn't always work. Sure is fun, when you get one to respond though. Think the toms get educated rather quickly. Had a big one come in the second weekend, but not in range. Had a struting tom decoy out with 3 hens, that may have deter him.

    Think that is a good idea. Have more questions than answers at this point. Research can go so far, experience picks up from there. A forum is always bound to go off topic. Hearing the pros and the cons to a subject is why I'm here. Don't need the bashing, but they seem to get the most views.

    Also wondered, if the deer is more likely to jump the bowstring with a crossbow. The one I have is louder than my compound.

    We did this many years ago on my dads farm. He always called it a poor mans fence. We cleared all the fields of the farm this way. I think it's great to see you using natural resources.( The workout isn't bad either, much better than a workout in some gym.)The rabbit population exploded in that area. We always had a spot to go hunting. Miss that rabbit stew, goooooood.

    My parents prefer the liver and heart over the rest of the meat itself. Believe that one. It is a delicacy to them. We have to aim so we don't damage any of these organs. Too bad it doesn't always work that way. I saved the intestines for sausage casings, but haven't made any yet.

    You are entering the States- Wildlife Mismanagement Area; Wildlife Nomanagement Area, both have a certain ring to them. Now you know, the state would never pay for those signs.

    I had a chance to buy 60 acres for 30k about 2 years ago. It was a buy. Had very little road frontage, maybe a 30' driveway width. The only catch was the owner would only sell to someone that would put it in agricultural production. Taxes were going to run $3600/ yr. The neighbor ended up buying it , planted corn for 1 year. He is now planting a new apple orchard on it. i find that a lease makes more sense, than owning. 30 K can go a long way. Own a little land, lease the rest. Grow your own deer on someone elses expense.

    Protect those seedlings. I planted some outside a few years ago from transplant seed, about 6" tall when set out.( Mac apple) Set chicken wire around them. staking it to the ground. Well, the rabbits,or maybe mice, got to them nice salad, thanks guy. Next time, i'm planting salad bowl for them, lol.
