  1. Where did you get 2- 4 ply implement tires for $70 that were not China manufacture? My cost is running 70 a piece for Firestone for 16"s.
  2. To each their own. I find some of the less expensive knives just as good as the ones for big bucks. Every knife can be lost; most are disposable; except for some of the replacement blade brands like Havalon, Opinel, Outdoor Edge, and a few other companies getting into disposable blades. Quite a few of your higher end companies are handling less expensive knives in order to survive in the marketplace. Buy what you like and enjoy! Oh, I also use less expensive knives on many, many harvests and done just find LOL.
  3. Knew a Slug long ago. Never did that to him however, he was 6'4 and weighed 260, LOL. Hope you get a tommy!
  4. I don't think it's legal to use a dog for Spring turkey in New York; even to search. I don't know where Belo is; maybe. Of coarse, nothing says you can't take the dog for a walk.
  5. The "not knowing" part is what would tear me up .How long can one search for a wounded animal; if it's even wounded at all. Sometimes the best of shots can yield to the worst outcomes.
  6. I remember my dads red 62 Willys . Brings back memories. That truck would go through more crap. Modern day trucks would be junk.
  7. Could we get a little more info on exact location and what will be talked about? Thank you.
  8. Nice! How far down did you have to go with it; motor, chassis , suspension, brakes, etc? That should be visiting car shows.
  9. Deer eat "weeds" also. In fact, studies have shown some contain higher protein levels than legumes. My front lawn is pretty much weed free; my food source acreage, not so much.
  10. Nice shots wooly. And here I thought they only made ranch dressing, LOL.
  11. We have lost many good members, just because of this. The cyber world can be a mean one. Hope you can take a change of heart and stay. Their are many here, that enjoy your posts.
  12. Remember getting the turkey jitters on my first go around. Funny how that gun just don't stay still.
  13. Something told me this was related to the turkey post . Shooting a bearded hen thinking it was a jake.
  14. I can't see the snout . Looks like it's rooting.
  15. I believe growalot had more up her sleeve than just her arm here.
  16. Yorkshire Hog. Did one of your neighbors get loose?
  17. Turkey will pull their breast feathers to line their nest, as they are softer.
  18. Congrats grow. Nice bird and wonderful story!
  19. Holey smokes, it's starts tomorrow; just realized I don't have tags. Gotta stop to Walmart to get some. Hope they didn't run out.
  20. I use old nuts, 5/16 and 3/8 " mostly. They work very well and can be picked up on garage sales for a dime a dozen. I don't get excited if I loose them on snags anymore.
  21. Turkey don't care if it's raining. Looks like blind hunting is in order.
  22. Bobcats; the mountain lions of New York.
  23. Took a drive last evening to take a look at a rototiller and do a little scouting. Noticed quite a few toms, jakes , and hens on the move in our travels. Some really nice looking turkeys around, of good size. A week ago, hadn't seen a bird, now their popping up all over. Caught a few gobbles, seen some big foot tracks in the mud, and picked up a feather or two. Gobbles killing the silence sure is enough to get one pumped.
  24. Trapping North American Furbearers is available on Ebay.
