  1. If you are mentally that concerned, then yes you should, to protect those that you would be taking care of. If your mind is somewhere else you'd be more likely to make mistakes
  2. And if someone is so scared of catching the virus then they should stay home
  3. I think it gives people a false sense of security. I watch people touch things then put their mask on, or take off after touching things. Not helping if not using correctly. I myself will not be wearing one. I will keep my hands clean, attempt to keep safe distance, not eat out and keep doing what I have done. I believe life has risks, if traveling in a car, climbing a treestand, boating ect. I am at a point with covid 19 that if i get it my body will build an immunity to it or I will die, but I won't live my life in a bubble, scared of doing the simplest of things.
  4. I am a sr master Subaru, expert hyundai, platinum Suzuki service technician for a dealership. Worked for them 18 years. Currently layed off so working for tractor supply. Also have my own landscape and handyman business. Quit drinking 11 months ago so had some extra time on my hands.
  5. Since we are on the subject of lawns, I have a landscape business. If anyone in the chemung, tioga, tompkins, schuyler, steuben area has any landscape needs let me know and I will be glad to help if I can.
  6. I have been there when the truck shows before 20t years ago as a kid. It was the same, caught one every cast. I too will release, I never liked the taste of trout so no sense in me keeping
  7. So with my current time off figure I will have time to trout fish this year. Been a couple of years since I have had time to trout fish. Does anyone know if dec hatcheries are still going to stock and when. Based on previous years I would think chemung county would be this week but I could not find a schedule on line
  8. Our owner the beginning of week talked big but as of tomorrow all locations will be shut down. As a dealership they are gonna keep 1 parts guy on and a couple of the lower wage techs, the rest of us, unemployment till first of April then see. My thoughts are we stayed open and exposed ourselves already so someone could get a recall on a radio done or an oil change. Seems simple to me, if we as Americans could listen to people who are studying this virus and follow their recommendations we could get through it quicker and rebound economically faster. The work will build up while away.
  9. I purchased several rounds of multiple calipers yesterday. Store had restrictions on amount per calber signs up. With state of emergencies the government has the right to restrict sales so that is one reason. Also in the current situation delivery of ammo and guns will slow down, and I wanted to make sure I have enough if needed to provide for my family and friends.
  10. As a flat rate technician no work through the door equals no pay. With gm, ford, and Chrysler shutting down plants temporarily will also be a parts issue. Salesmen, and technicians are free if not producing. I would rather shut down temporarily and get through the surge of this virus then return to work and get caught up . The way we are doing it will get all of us sick, loose more time getting better and drag out the recovery process in my opinion from what I have seen. Either way, there is going to be financial hardship but the quicker the better.
  11. I belive if the government requires shutdown he is willing to pay penalty for not closing, his words not mine. As an auto dealership we are essential employees. Sad the business has not implemented any safety issues to protect the employees or customers. I get to tear apart the interior of a customer car this afternoon, feel great about that.
  12. I am in the auto service industry and we are doing nothing different. Business as usual the owner told us today. And we aint closing. He said he will pay 10k a day penalty if need be.
  13. I wouldn't tell, nor would I hesitate to hunt out of season if food was needed. I feel it would be unethical to go hungry or allow someone to go hungry if resources are available. And I would also rather get my food poaching then begging.
  14. Both eyes open with a scope to get target in focus but close left eye before shooting. But I close left eye with open sights right from the start. I don't know why, I just do. Seems more natural and happens without thought.
  15. I would like to see the other buck who did the damage to this guy. Love the detail on the mount. Not only great rack but the scars on him too.
  16. There was a taxidermist in tioga count who went by mountain man. Closed shop overnight and alot of people never got back their horns or money.
  17. That is shared by my son in law. That is him and my oldest daughter
  18. I got my first one when i was 13. Me and friends thought it would be cool to put a tatoo on our hands between thumb and pointer finger. My dad wasn'treal proud when i got home. Told me to wash it off, and then realized it was real. Didn't say much after that I got 3 more in my 20's. Now 41 have other things I would rather spend money on.
  19. Had 2003 road king. Was fun for the first few years but got tired of tip toeing around it in the garage. Sold it for more than I paid and do not miss it.
  20. How does those who hate coyotes feel about black bears increasing population? I for one have no use for neither but curious what others think. I think both have a negative effect on deer population in an area.
  21. You would know more about that then me. Like I said that was what I was told
  22. I had seatbelt and helmet laws explained to me one time, it is not only about your personal safety but it is also about the guy who gets to clean your body parts off the road. And yes I do feel mandatory orange would discourage trespassing and other hunting violations with most people, not all.
  23. Seatbelt laws are mandatory in cars, as are helmet laws with motorcycle And yes more guys will comply if orange was mandatory because of where they get in and out of the woods.
  24. Wearing orange should be mandatory imo. To not wear it hunting I say you are asking for trouble and yes I think you are responsible for your own safety. Same reason you have conceal carry. I find guys who hunt in full camo are usually on land they don't have permission to be on or not following hunting regulations. I have seen the flames come out of the muzzle of a gun from a guy trespassing and shooting at a deer between us in the moonlight while he was wearing full camo as to not be seen. I have shot a deer on over a hundred acres of private land to have someone in camo come out from behind a tree after my shot yelling don't shoot cause they were where they weren't suppose to be. I have gotten pictures of trespassers on trial cams on my hunting land in full camo but not in blaze orange. Just a few examples of why I support the need to wear orange, not only safety but also if people feel they can be seen they tend to be more honest
