It was a nice day in the woods today. Hunted till 1pm then got a spot for gun season. No deer, but seen turkey, and a pair of eagles.

I use poison and traps. I do not want mice, chipmunks, or squirrels in my house or sheds. I do not know if it also kills owls, hawks, or any other animals.

More leaves fall off the trees in the last week? The dropping of leaves change deer habit quickly. Seem to see more in the fields and open areas when the leaves first fall.

Spent the morning with my grandson opening up an old logging road in an area that was clear cut about 6 years ago. With all the pine tops left behind you couldn't even walk through it.

I choose to pass on shooting doe during bow. I hardly ever shoot doe during gun. It has been 3 years since I killed a doe in gun, and probably 5 years before that. When my kids were young I killed alot of doe, and small bucks to fill the freezer being venison was our families primary meat source. I feel if the doe are near, the boys will follow.

I still use them but to watch my property for trespassing. People, like deer, are easy to pattern and always use the same easy paths to trespass. I can not watch multiple properties all the time, so the cameras are good for that

I would be ok with cameras being used in that way. I feel using cameras do lessen the quality of the story to be told around the campfire, much like a paid guided hunt. I do not have cell cams, but have used trail cams. I haven't used them in 2 years for deer hunting because using them did take away from the hunt, and I started feeling like the deer were mine, so to speak. That being said when I go in the woods to hunt I plan on killing, that is why I am there, so I have no objection over technology advantages.

I have used both. I prefer huntstand. Both are outdated for property ownership. I started asking permission from land owners using onX. But found it to be outdated. Most up to date place I found for land ownership is a website called acrevalue. Also has info on soil in the area. And borderlines. I highly recommend

I only shoot 5 arrows at a time. Do not want to over think anything. If I have an off day, do not change nothing. Put bow up and shoot the next day. Do this 3 to 4 days a week through September. By end of month my shooting is consistent.

No, I do not see that as Trump's ultimate goal. And I see pretty good. And I think Trump has done a good job, better than I expected 4 years ago to be honest. Some military leaders dislike him but maybe because he has been cautious with sending troops in. His action with them have showed he cares . I do not know anyone who served who dislikes Trump but then they were not military leaders. The virus he has handled within his constitutional rights. I know you don't agree, but you really don't know the constitution well as shown above so we can leave it there. The protesting as it is called is nothing more than riots and looting. It is really too bad. All the protesting is doing is creating more division. I wish Trump would shut it down but he constitutionally can not. State rights and all. The economy is doing pretty good still. I work in a service industry, and also own my own business. I can not keep up, along with everyone I know. Even with a "pandemic " the economy is doing better than 4 years ago. The inflated unemployment numbers are sadly a direct reflection of political games being played because of the state government restrictions. The virus is being used for politics because of the upcoming election.

I did not run cameras last year, and none this year because of my schedule. Last year I killed 2 nice 8 points. I try to do my scouting during gun hunting, and early spring. I love getting pics on camera, but I feel the additional time spent setting up and moving them does scare the deer away. Scouting in the summer does little good because the deer pattern will change. I feel I have a pretty good idea of deer movement from what I pick up from the year before. Always pay attention this year, and apply it next year. Look for trails to see which direction they move. Look at trees and food sources being used. If you find oak trees remember where. Watch for acorn growth on nearby trees on the road to see if crop is doing well. Watch local fields this time of year to see the deer herd. Alot of scouting now can be done from the car. If you go in now to scout out the land deer will know your presence and you may have lost the opportunity of surprise.

Regardless of who wins, with mail in voting the other side will not except the outcome and then what? Scary times, I think I will vote to keep my guns. And I consciously could not vote for a man who has a fetish with sniffing and touching children.
