Best thing to do 8s shoot a doe with twin button buck fawns, with out momma to chase them out of the area when they are 1.5 they stick around and take her home range as their own, their range may increase but the core will always be their youth range , makes it nice when they hang around for a few seasons and grow a bit.

Shared it off site.

That's a pretty short flash range ,nice one looks to only be a few yards behind off to the right. I dont buy a camera now unless it has a 120ft range..

A couple there I wouldn't pass up -
Had one like that several years ago, was shot in late muzzleloader, wouldn't tip a 25lb scale gutted. Did it a favor as it was not gonna make it thru the winter. Snow was already deeper than it was tall.

I've made them in roost areas for Turkey, work well.

An old timer that taught me to hunt at his camp use to smear limburger cheese on a tree about 3ft off the ground on the lawn of the cabin, deer walk right up and lick it off.. soamething with bananas.,, I've eaten apples and dropped the core and had deer come in and eat it not a few minutes after I dropped it.. my scent had to be all over it didnt care at all. As well as watched deer come in and eat cigar stubs under his stand....

It's a park people eat apples and deer love em , even if it is a tossed core, they leave park and find decorative crab apples in peoples yards I'm sure. Plus there is prolly.some old wild trees someplace even if it is a crab apple I've used it in solid pine stands the deer come and they know there are no apples there..so I would say yes.

Fresh apple cider in a atomizer spray bottle.. just squirt it into air deer will sniff their way right to you. Bonus is if your thirsty take off top and grab a sip.

That is one of the most used places on my property,I check that came ever 2 or 3 days and he showed up 4 hours after I had loked at it while trimming out the stand, it's my main logging road and is driven or walked by every other day or so. Imo food and cover are most important.behind that Aspen is 3 acres of apples on the top of a ravine, it's a natural funnel. All game has to cross there or face a steep hill up and down. In my case this is the big.factor just a good natural funnel.with food . The second part is cover , the property is thick, most hunters would.feel closterphobic in most.of.my.stands though I place them.on a natural or.man made.opening you can only.see 20.to.50 yards tops out of them. I do extensive logging and habitat work to keep it that way. Surrounding properties are open hardwoods so all game feel safer where they are not visible for 100 yards or more. It also make hunting easier as I dont miss at 20 to 40 yards.

So next 45 days would be Oct 15th or so...

I'm saying summer range and fall feeding and rut range all differ, those bucks are in their home range but not their core range. My neighbor has tons of big velvet buck photos in his pastures all summer , come fall they all show up on my place in hard horn, only 3/4 mile away as crow flies but they require different things at different times of year. So not passing thru but may shift area they are in for food and breeding. And you may see them cruise thru in rut. It's the hardest thing about managing a property ,providing everything they need for all seasons..for example.. late winter thermal cover is needed and they may go pretty far away to find it.. If you have all they need try turning camera 90 or 180 degrees , old buck learn quick and will walk behind or alongside cameras, even the ir and no flash.. I have hung cameras back to back same tree and once dup deer I thought left the area only to realize they just learned ton avoid the camera

Time of year bucks change patterns, I lost a couple of big ones and found them 3/4 mile away this week. Why I don't put much into velvet photos, hard horn is what will stick around , velvet always seems buck may show up during rut but is home someplace else, they are done eating protine and now are looking for food to put on fat before rut..
