  1. You can kill broad leaf weeds with 2,4d, if you have clover you can use 2,4db and kill broadleaf and not kill the clover.. It's what lawn companys use on your lawn and charge you 110x what it cost for water.. Sethoxydim, or clethodim for grass if you can find it. Cleth is not sold in ny.. but is by far the best selective grass killer.
  2. Middle of field in the dark .. as for getting in the thick nasty. Being new to property I would set up on edge of it and observe and then decide if thick and nasty is where I have to be.. there is always great sign in those places because deer are undisturbed. You entering them no matter how you do may change that.. observe and move where you need to be , rather than move in and move deer out.. it's better to be in spot to get a deer you may see ,then see deer you may maybe get ....
  3. The most amazing thing is I do not see the average range of the crossbow at 40 yards.. or 80 I mean that's what will ruin bowhunting they are like a rifle .. apparently a reasonable range is taken with crossbow and bow.. though I do wonder if recovery rates are lower for bow as many do not seem.to know where their arrow hits with bow with 100% certainty yet those with crossbow and increased speed doesnt let the deer drop and influence the hit.
  4. I think same genetic line for sure but different bucks.
  5. That's a good size bear especially when it will add 100lbs or so by fall. Will be 350 400 I would guess by hibernation time.
  6. Air filter, grass/seed heads packed against motor anywhere smoldering.. oil is usually white ,and unburned fuel blue.. your sounds like a outside fuel source.. mouse nest under dust cover of motor or in air cleaner are possibilities
  7. I am concentrating on getting a few friends/ family the opportunity at a decent buck, a lot more of habitat work this year than years past, and overall maintenance on property.
  8. Not over filled with oil? Air cleaner free of debri?
  9. That is only 5 yards. Not far but looks farther cause he is tiny!!
  10. A few from some cams I checked today only.photo of this bear and I have cameras all around this trail ,this was new one I just put up. They know how.to avoid them well. note the body size difference between the spike and 10. These two travel together.something to keep in mind early season..
  11. Mechanical disturbance or use roundup the way its suppose to be used
  12. Current 2019 photo Photo 2016 guesses, opinions and heck guess how old if it is same...
  13. Looks good I just plant bigger plots as deer eat everything can imagine fencing off a plot
  14. Has to be the 4th deer this year number 400 since 93 of property.. might be a button buck..who knows..maybe bonus if it's a mature buck..hmmmm
  15. If you go to a movie it 12 bucks for 2 hours of entertainment, you sit in a stand for 10 hours a day. So 60 dollars a day if you were at movies you hunt how many days a year? 30? Your getting 1800 dollars worth of entertainment for less than 1300 if your sharing that property with 3 others for 5k.. it's a pretty good deal ,price sou ds ridiculous at 1st but , taxes, time ,equipment costs to maintain property by owner are not included.. you will most.likely have a better experiance on private land than public especially if its managed.. I spend between 3 and 5 k a year just managing my own property that I and family and friends enjoy. It's a huge expense for me and honestly I could lease most of it off and enjoy it myself and make $$ but that's not what I enjoy... many take the giving of landowners for granted.. it's a lot of work to maintain acreage to where its accessible and provides what one expects out if it.
  16. Same stand as cinnamon bear.. lol you can get a 2 for 1 deal...
  17. Saw 6 hens together no points today in middle of my road
  18. I'd spray with clethodim if you can get it..wont sell in ny.. but neighboring states still have it, will grass only and all broadleaves are safe from it..
  19. Nice job! What are you planning on planting?
