  1. some people do not know internal anatomy. ran. into a hunter near my.uncles in east otto who had hit a deer i helped them track it and we found a nice 1.5 basket rack dead.. i watched the hunter gut and place the lungs into a bag telling me how he loved to eat the liver and these would be dinner that night..thought he was joking but watched him drag deer and his bag of lung away leaving liver and heart in the gut pile... still smh thinking about it years later...
  2. frontage, land type all play a role.. i have one 30 acre piece that runs 700 between school and property, and i have a 10 acre that runs 1100
  3. i use to cut mine up the same day all the time. mostly made ground and sausage.
  4. im sure there will be requirements same as there are for bows.minimum distance or poundage will be there . i wish it would change sooner than later but politicians dont listen to dec. just lobbiests
  5. i have a reddot on my browning bps. no parralax and where ever the reddot is is where bullet goes. dial up or down intensity for light conditions and distance .some allow you to change dot size or even give cross hairs. its also a must have on my turkey gun as pattern is so tight. a point is needed to properly aim over a bead
  6. nov way to late , could of over seeded in sept. clover slow growing but still needs soil temps to germ and having it germinate and then get hit by a hard frost will just kill it.. the purpose in spring is to get the seed to obtain soil contact. when it warms enough it will then sprout.. in fall a frost will.cause it to get contact but 2 or 3 days of warm weather it will germ and then freeze as temps continual to cool vs warm as in spring
  7. seems earlier this year most were hoping for rain..... glad i built roofs for most of my permanant stands this year.
  8. they can and will be used at any time mine get eaten as soon as they emerge , bulbs may last a little longer but greens will be nearly gone by end of oct. amd this is on a 2 acre plot.
  9. as for where to buy your triple wall pipe the most inexpensive place carries the same pipe as the expensive fire place stores. the difference maybe in stainless used . but it will do what it supoose to keep vent hot so crestote doesnt build and keep out side cool so you dont burn house cabin down. you can get and follow building codes yourself and safe a ton of your hard earned cash..
  10. save em and bring em to the goat next get together
  11. need box and tripple wall for gping thru wall or roof..dont skimp.. 12 to 18 in min from wall and your best to replace drywall or paneling on wall with concrete board. take paper off insulation in wall as well. fires are not nice to deal with at all....
  12. spent ? well $$ wise 17k for property i owned all around, licence. and the most costly..... many many many man hours scouting and hanging stands
  13. i never use gloves for deer but use arm.legnth for bear.. would never do a bear with out them..way ro many parasites and dieseses
  14. well at my place they would both be 2.5 year olds
  15. i know where there is a 12 ga 48 with blown barrel..
  16. asat looks like the early skyline before they started changing it to appeal to the human eye. now realtree owns it and their new camo is an old skyline pattern
  17. never waved a white hankerchief at a deer..suckers will walk righ up to see what you are. also very effective on rear end of a decoy..you can ask taco about that..
  18. never heard of skyline camo? white with limbs across it dissappear in treetops much better than the realtree and mossy oak dark forest floor pattern in a tree..
  19. it helps in my head.. my neighbor has killed more deer in bluejeans and a red flannel wool coat than i can count .. hes 82 .. and still kills them every year.. skylining yourself, movement, and just knowing a deer lives there 24/ 7 and will pick up things out of place are the reason your picked off more than anything imo
  20. doesnt sound like a mortal hit. id recheck your scope and caliber . your bullet could very well be still rising and 1 in high becomes 4 in high and hold a little high means a non mortal hit.. ..
  21. crouch down throw a dewr skin over your back and sneak in injun style. you can even add a rack to your head dress.... use terrain when still hunting..walk down a creekbed thru the water so your lower chest waders work well.. deer dont look for people walking in middle of creek and think growth along bank will allow you to slip in close....
  22. i just wish the regulations were consistant 1/2 before sunrise and sunset for everything but deer.. may as well make it the same across board 1/2 hr before and after sunset... imo
