well i can old age accuratly to 3.5 after that its a guess. 5.5 4.5 6.5 all look the same unless you have photo history to compare after 3.5 its a buest guess. i killed one 8.5 had sheds from previous years.. dec said 3.5 till i showed shedsgoing back 6 years... after 3.5 they are mature.. good and bad winters at that point affect body size and antlers but stay pretty similar imo

little bucks harasing does.. blew my.chance at mature buck tonight .he was.just cruising /nosing around. should be chase and breeding by weekend

its light hard to get stuck and i run on. logging road i keep in decent shape.. can get slippery in mud puddles on hill. but it only has street tires on it a knobby tire would make big difference

most crossbow scopes allow you to dial it in for fps. sight at 20 and at 40 and its all set at all ranges.. you never know a deer standijg broadside in an open field looking away from you is a buck of a lifetime.. be nice to. know you can take thay shot at 40 because your scope is set. you can limit yourself to ranges your comfortable with i 99 % of cases but the need will arise when conditions are perfect..for a bit longer shot. additionally when sighted in off a rest at further ranges you will much tighter groups at closer ranges i stead of well its a 3 in circle good enough at 20... you will be breaking nocks at close ranges and holding a nice tight group at further..

i have a 1982 honda 50 gas moped.. very quiet..bonus is horn works great for locating spring gobblers. i can run 1.5 miles of ridge at sunset and "call " every 100 yards. birds light up at sound.. saves lot of walking

the clocks back only help non hunters with sleep.. we lose out

that is all i use and my friend use with our crossbows.. mathew mbx400 . as for your bear .i can only say aim 4 in behind shoulder middle of the body.. i would not hesitate to shoot a bear with one. together we have taken 8 deer since crossbow since they became legal. with beat placement is more important imo

honestly as was said before shooting your 1.5 year old 6 and 8pt is very counter productive.. i tell guys if you just want meat shoot the spike.. every one know a spike can grow to a 10pt or bigger but think on this an 8 is already an 8. a spike is usually late born,maalnourished or a combination. we do not have the ability to see its dna potential . but i know for dam sure the 8 pt will be an 8 pt the following year or bigger. the spike may take 3 to 5 years to catch up to a prime 1.5 year old.. so saving a spike and killing the prime 6 or 8 is to me foolish.. all 1.5 should be let pass if your gonna manage. the areas with ars is simply a creation by several small groups and is not biologically based ..

most of wny and central ny can and do have a large number od 7pt or better yearlings.. in high densitiy areas these are shot because its a 8pt or a 10pt..ect

i do not hunt in ny ar restricted dmus. pennslyvania is a mixed result depending on area and pressure in that area.. some produce large multi tined buxks other produce monster 4 pt..some of the largest ive seen.. 4 and 5 year old.. to many hunter removing every 3 pt a side and up..

id contact dec.if they taking posted signs they are prolly doing other illegal.activities

ar's in high density area can quickly high grade a herd. killing your 6 and 8pt 1.5 year old bucks will cause a shift to large 4pt amd spikes at 2.5 amd older..( yes i know a spike can grow larger with age but if you kill alll buck 3 pt.a side or greater the only bucks that will advance in age are inferior racked spikes and 4pt.. they can get huge ) an age restriction is a much better form of management

as bucks get older they get smarter. thevidea of passing up little bucks and having big ones behind every tree is main reason for pushing ars.. fact is many many people are poor hunters or have limited time so taking a mature animal cones down to luck only.. the tv host and shows dont show the 50 or sonday they sat and never saw anything worth shooting or anything at all.

just put the rack thru the string and use the riser as a drag handel... seriously though ive used the sling on my gun to drag deer

killed way to many deer walking in and out to ever sling it...

yeah i had one stood 5 years np.. blew over 2x in a week.. ask red.. rebuilt and cabled in and staked down now.. have another elevated double box sttod for over 10 years np. in the woods it blew over last winter its only 4ft off ground.. hell of a wind.. still have trail to clear od trees and have to rebuild it still
