I've hunted 8.guys on 30 acres and we all had good time and hunts, I've had 8 guys on 300 acres and had good times and hunts, I've hunted 2.5 acres with 1 and had successful hunts. Habitat, style of hunting, surrounding pressure all play a factor. In muzzleloader we do drives, 20 plus people on 300 acres, it's very effective 2 drives 1 before lunch and 1 after.. each case is an individual basis

Gas line company owns right of way, unless the 50 acre.parcel has r.o.w. through it your trespassing to get to that property, I see lots of trespassers on the railroad tracks and right of way.good rabbit hunting g in brush along tracks, but it is trespassing and illegal even if it doesn't get enforced..

No scents for me, maybe kischels goldenrod cover if I'm hunting on ground near crp field.

A paper road may be abandon ones and you would lose your access to the property, as it would either be sold or divided to its center line by surrounding landowners

Something is skeletonizing my turnips.....

Deer have mine eaten back to main center stem,.. no frost needed, apparently they don't know they are suppose to wait for frost. -
Perhaps we could.eliminate the need for big antlers if we just give everyone a participation trophy!

I like the doe hiding in the bushes!

I see more.gloves left in the wood with the gut piles, really pissed me.off.... I don't use them..

If they do it every day and stay on leash and on a trail then ignore it deer will still move as normal. I have friends that walk dogs every day at any time on their property ( they don't hunt) they have given others permission to hunt but they don't because the dog screws them up... well I go in and shoot 120 class buck after they walk dog right behind their house maybe 70 yards from the back door. And everyone is surprised... big buck know where the dogs are and will cozy up just out of range of them. As they know hunters stay away..

Here is biggest problem with qdm in the us and nys in general, the deer are not yours!! They belong to the, state!! Way to much you hear my deer, or the neighbor shot my buck, or I work hard for my deer. If you can leave behind the mentality of them being yours and think of them as a general resource. Then qdm makes sense. No one like being told what to do on their own property but that is what the state is doing with the game, deer ,turkey and small game. But who knows your property better than you? What it can hold, produce ,and how you manage it within the confines of the state laws.. That is why you hear people complain about what can be shot, what is legal, ect.

Same as a short hunt, knife, rope, second release same as primary, grunt tube, rattle bag, pen, magnesium fire starter.

They aren't growing , you just have a buck with short tines, latest I've seen velvet on a buck was Oct 14th. Usually they are done by mid august and are mineralizing. Not all deer grow tall tines, still a nice buck!

I have had a scrape under the same branch for 20 years... topography, habitat, and winds are the key for a consistent primary scrape/liking branch area.

Most hunter are clueless about registering changes ,they don't ask, don't read, had an old friend from school post his sons buck from youth season last year, I was happy for him , then the next day he post the doe the kid shot during youth hunt.... sigh, I contacted him and said you know it's 1 deer only in youth?? Sent a pic of rules and regs and suggested he remove post from social media. Then he became worried about dec finding out.... read rules every year and get a book, even if you have to go back, the not knowing excuse isn't valid...

I really hope the farmer that took over the fallow fields by me cuts his corn by mid October, combining not chopping, last year he didn't get it cut to last day of muzzleloader. . To.much moisture in the grain. Great seeing 30 plus deer in a cut field day after season....sigh. Hoping for a hot dry first couple weeks of October so it black tips and dries. Tough to compete with 400 acres of well fertilized corn with 10 acres of corn . Though mine will stand next may.... .

The speed ups work but color doesn't last,, kerosene and speed black only seemed to last if I waxed the traps within a day or two.black walnut hulls and a barrel seem to be they way to make it last, although I did always want to try to brown my traps like an old muzzleloader barrel , the chemicals for that were cost prohivitive.

If it's cold out (snow teps in 30s a deer won't spoil in half a day with gut in it,if you soot one and its 30 min into opening day waiting an hour or two or 4 won't hurt it, guys wait or should wait a lot longer tracking deer in archery season Esp a gut shot deer. Temps are the key if it's 70 you might want to get it out of the woods and to a processor quick. 20 well laying 8 hours isn't going to hurt it ,might be a little stiffer to gut but I'd wait Esp if you think deer are around, I've shot a deer with bow and saw it go down and left it went to track a buck my buddy shot and another hunter at camp went to retrieve it go close saw a bug buck hanging around went back to cabin got his bow, shot bug buck and had my doe and his buck back at camp by the time we found my friends 2 hrs later.. you never know.. I know guys that have shot a deer and climb down out of tree and when they are halfway down the biggest buck of their life is standing there them halfway down tree and gun on eND of ropen on ground... point is if you can wait and temps permit let it lay, curb your excitement and you may really have a reason to celebrate!

Thicker is only better if you can get into it undected. But Thicker woods in general hold more deer.
-
I've shot a doe in heat opening day then watch 3 different bucks try and get her up while she lay 30 yrds from stand, if they were bigger I would of tagged out...

4 to 5 foot trees are available at resch's hardware store in cuba ny, 34.95 apiece or buy 6 or more and save 5.00 a tree , they have about 30 left.

There should be more deer on that property, if you need bucks cut and make a thicket and stay out of it, still hunting you probably follow same path and see same deer, next question is if your not there who is 100 acres of unhunted property surrounded by corn should be loaded with deer if someone isn't hunting it.just.from any pressure from other properties
