Back out for afternoon sit after friend came and did afternoon sit where she passed a spike at 130 pm. Wind has picked up and skeeter are out...

Had friend show up so I put her in small orchard I planted 15 years ago.. had this sent to me at 130 .. she passed on little spike.. surprised me as she only has 1 other buck in her life. Told me she wants a big 8 I have on camera... not a bad mid day sit 1 buck in 1.5 hours..

Because gun is allowed and don't want to anger the bowhunters..

This will be 1st year I haven't had a youth for youth hunt.. niece is to young and boys are to old.. hoping a friend or two with kids come out and get one.

The problem is we have no game department, no officers to enforce laws ( we have perhaps 2 per county? ) until we demand a right to hunt and fish to be managed by a game department politics and lack of funding will cripple game management in nys.. we probably would not even have a debate of crossbow as they would of made it full inclusion and legal immediately... those that break the laws are criminals but they can also be looked at as objectors of bad politics and laws formed by non hunters and biologists.. it will be full inclusion some day no doubt but I wish for a true game department and right for hunting and fishing more.

I like the cameras better than hunting itself so many bucks die of old age. Hunters never see them.. I hunt whenever it strikes me to. I have big bucks on so many different cameras it doenst matter where I go. I won't get cell cameras as I feel they provide an unfair advantage but that's my own opinion and ethics

I just enlisted a local predator hunter that has a lot of success to help check a couple of coyote that have showed up harassing deer in my soybean field.. big suckers.. 1st time in years I've been getting pics of yote consistently. Usually only got 3 or 4 a year on cam .. these are chasing deer every night 3 of them look shepherd size.. hope he can get them this week.

Had this small 8 come by and 30 min later a bigger one but he went by to fast for a shot

22 years , and your woods have grown become more open... happens a lot I hear it all the time I've hunted the same spot for 20 years!! Woods mature brush dies off.. patterns change.. Drops some trees, hinge cut. A sanctuary is 100x more important than a food plot. If the deer bed on your property and feed on your neighbors they will be on your 80% of the time. You have a few small plots that are staging areas so those will help keep them on yours in daylight.. deer move at dark when they don't feel safe.. Dropped over 700 trees on my place last winter to just thicken up the wood to make deer bed on it vs just passing thru. Wasn't a week and the local herd moved in...

Stopped shooting groups years ago. Multiple dots ..arrows are to expensive and a robinhood in aluminum arrows were way more fun ....

The point is these pinned posts should be updated.. we are 3 days from start of bow season and the current post is 2019... idk about reactions I'd something is disturbing or I don't want to see I scroll past ,offensive scroll past.. You can't get new members on a site that looks dead/dated... simple.. moderators should update the welcome pages even if they are only seen by new , visiting, or browsing people.. you can have an amazing content hut I'd the outside looks like a slum you don't go in... we are not hiding from housing appraisers... butt ugly outside and beautiful interior... a simple solution is copy the text and repost with new date at least.... smh
