A 7-08 pushing 120 TTSXs is hard to beat for one stop shopping on game in the lower 48. If I could only own one rifle, it would be my Montana in 7-08.

Very cool! Best of luck to her. Good job, mom and dad.

This^^^^^ The guys in my club/camp come and hunt the weekends. When they leave, I have the whole mountain to myself. I like their company and comradery...cooking, playing cards, retelling old stories over a few beers and the like. But, for four weeks, I cherish my alone time and the solitude of stillhunting the hill by myself.

I won't do business with family. I've seen too many families destroyed.

We're going for drinks and dancing next Friday.

Back in the early '90s, we even had a few wonder down into Sullivan County in the Catskills. Haven't heard of any more in quite a few years now.

My mom's aunt used to make a fantastic venison neck sauerbraten in an enameled dutch oven, after she marinated it for a full week in the fridge.

As for slug guns, I still have my old 870. These days, the barrel resides deep in the back of one of the safes while the 870 now wears a Wadlock barrel with an extra tight turkey choke.

Very nice. I'm a big fan of the Sav 99. There's a group on FB and another on 24hourcampfire dedicated to them. Great guys.

I'm interested as well. Also wondering if there are any long term side affects....

It wouldn't affect me at all. I take pride in being old school. A rifle, a knife, a hunk of rope and a few spare shells, along with my woodsman/hunting skills is all I need. I've been successful enough and don't miss the high tech gadgets I've never had. -
The Lost Art Of Rabbit Hunting

Man, I miss hunting bunnies and pheasant. I haven't been since I used to cut school and go back in the '70s. I find myself thinking about that a lot lately. Might have to do something about it.... -
For EDC, a CZ 75 PCR, double/single action with decocker. Just for fun, Ruger Mark ll Target, 5" stainless bull barrel.

Daughter bought a hybrid Rav4 a few months ago. She didn't put gas in it for a month and a half. I think she said she gets 36-38 mpg when running gas and 98 mpg that first month and a half.

Ha, just ran across this a year later. Yes, near Beaverkill. Village of East Branch.

Beef grading is a continuum. One piece of Choice could be very high quality, just missing the Prime criteria, while another is just barely qualified to keep it from being graded Select.

If leg holds and snares are illegal, what does that leave, just conibears? I'm not a trapper, so I don't know. My personal opinion is that snares with breakaways should be legal for coyotes, and that they should be reclassified as vermin.

Out of all the guns in 3 safes, the 7-08 almost always gets the call.
