The Left and Chick-Fil-A

Recommended Posts

Everyone should be opposed to Catholicism....It is an evil cult, posing as a religion.

Now, Now my son, there was a point in time when i was thinking some of those same devil driven thoughts but when i see what has come about in todays world as far as religion especially here in the US i started to rethink my views about being a Catholic and actually embrace it today. Why do you think all these Johnny come lately reborn, bible thumpin fly by night religions and evangelical churches are popping up all over the land. i will tell you its all about the "MONEY"and the majority are fakes praying on the people with weak minds.. the Catholic religion still gives more money to charities and helps people in so many ways i wouldnt even know where to start... It's all part of Obama's Socialist plan. Morality and traditional values must be rendered ineffective to win the fight. Here's a video about his attack on his biggest opponent, Catholicism.

this video is just more right wing lunacy, the majority of Catholics vote Democrat and will vote Obama and are middle class working folk. i like how the right wacko wing makes these things up and trys to officialize them by putting it into a video speaking for people they dont even know anything about. Elected officials should be leading the charge, its their job! Elected officials reflect the opinion of their constituents, or else they don't remain elected officials for long. You think the mayor of SF is losing any votes for saying he doesn't want C-A-F in his city? And the mayors can "say" whatever they want. Saying something doesn't make it policy, and doesn't make it law.

So you think one of an elected officials duty is to target a business because they don't lik what the owner says? Remember, the company has done nothing illegal in terms of hiring or customer relations.

Between bigotry of "I would say the same of homesexuality... it is an evil sickness posing as normal behavior." and the plain old stupidity of "Also not born that way! Evolution would not have allowed for same sex to continue. The first gay would have been the last gay.", I'm going to recuse myself from this thread.

I honestly hope that no one you know has to suffer in silence because of your views.

This is already tested for and the option for abortion is given. The result depends on your world view. Naturalist would kill and throw on the trash heap. I know several christian women who knew there children would be born mentaly handycapped and they still had them. One teen I know is quite the archer and use to compete. So it depends on how selfish a person you are, if you want to do what you want to do and no one is getting in your way then you would probably kill your kid.

If so, let's say the homosexual trait can be detected right before birth. Let's say during the 7th month of pregnancy you find out that you unborn child will be born with the gay deformality. Do you have an abortion or do you let the child live? If you choose to let the child live, do you try to give it as normal of a life as possible? One that includes marrying someone he or she loves?

I agree with Graybeard. A lot of people use the bible to justify their own bigotry, homophobia, or intolerance of others. They are quick to condemn anyone who doesn't live according to certain teachings in the bible- and they disregard the fact that they themselves don't either.

This can be said for anything other than the Bible also. "Many beat the pulpit" for one cause as they denounce another. Similiar to the original directio of this thread. Protsters feelign the gays should be free to puruse happiness as they see fit....that it is their right to live that way. Yet those same protestors are willing to trample on the rite of the owner to voice his opinion. As any consumer you can choose to support a business for what ever reasons. To call for them to be run out of business, protest to disrupt their business and talk about new stores not being allowed in areas becasue o an opinion is hypocritical as well. That is okay though because it suit their wants.

If you don't like what they do or say...boycott them...If you do , support them. often select purchases based on the type of support or contributuions company makes.

Weird, the same ones that would support the life in this case to give rights to a "gay" fetus would be all to willing to suport taking that fetus life for "just because"

How did they trample on his rights to express his opinion? They exercised their own rights to express their disagreement with his opinion. Nobobdy said that the CEO shouldn't be allowed to say what he said. If their protests broke the law, they should be held accountable. But, they are free to voice their reaction to the company's statements and to boycot the company if they choose.

He's referring to the elected officials who stated they would ban Chick-fil-A from their cities. That's a violation of the owners free speech right and political tyranny in retaliation. Individuals also promoted the "Kiss-in" where they would ilegally occupy the resturants without buying anything and causing trouble. That's going beyond the right to boycott a business.

Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno has said he would oppose Chick-fil-A's plan to expand in Chicago.

The mayor of Boston told the chain, "I urge you to back out of your plans to locate in Boston."

The mayor of San Francisco, where the closest Chick-fil-A is 40 miles away, said, "I strongly recommend that they not try to come any closer."

You are right, I have no idea how a business' rites could be stepped on with comments and threats like these. Le't all hope we don't find ourselves on the recieving side of a well meaning protest.

Difficult to figure out why some people really believe the stuff of the bible is the "word of God". Wake up...It was written by mortal men....As were the holy books of all the other religions. What's the truth? Beats me, but I will recognize the word of God when she stands in front of me and speaks!

It's a fine line, but none of those statements are actually 'bans'. They're telling the company that they are not welcome in their cities- supposedly on behald of their constituents. They're not saying that the company is not allowed to operate there.

Yeah,,ok. Ever tried to get a building permit through for a commercial construction project. If they don't want you there you won't be there, period. It will be legal and everything. I have been involved in state giving the Feds issues with building permits that took years to clear up. Construction was stalled. So you keep thinking it is just talk.

So maybe all the conspiracy theorists and government haters are right. Maybe 'they' really are monitoring this site. Maybe they've read all your posts and decided that they don't want you in their town.

ERRUSSEL .

.I'm pretty sure you're joking about who democrats are especially since illegal's can't vote.I have heard some of that before from the right ( The left has some stuff about Republicans too).

I don't want to get into who stereotypes who, and which one is right. My purpose is not to insult.

I spend most of my days fishing, and at one time many days hunting so I know many sportsmen and "SOME" of their political ideas.

I have found many democrats who fish and hunt, I know some democrat power lifters, cops, firemen, construction workers, business owners, etc. . Many are not opposed to gun ownership,or hunting. Some have different views on some of the ideas that are associated with dems. They are democrats for their own reasons..( I do also know many who are very left).

I also know republicans who are opposed to hunting and want more gun legislation. They are republicans for entirely different issues.

I am friends, or acquainted with people who are republicans as well as others who are democrats that favor same sex marriage.

Based on the above it is "MY " opinion that we should not stereotype people by their political party.

I personally wouldn't chose a candidate based on his/her party. I listen to their views on issues that I believe in, then I listen to other opposition's views then I decide.

You ever wonder why the left is so strongly opposed to any improvements in the voter identification requirements? After seeing the whole signature book with a piece of paper held over your signature....security is a joke in voting. The last election the lady didn't even look at what I signed after i did. She just went about her conversation with the woman next to her.

no, no, you remove the child from the womb immediately and take it to Met games!

post-31-0-76767600-1344430736_thumb.jpghow about this billionair corporate fast food gaint sounding off about how the affordable healthcare act is going to make him raise the price of his crap pizza. all while he has put thousands of small family run pizza places out of business around the country. so the way i see this is hes complaining that he will have to provide his employees with decent health care, thats the handfull of them that he even gives healthcare, the majority of them are kept on part time and payed minimum wage and are poor enough to be on medicaid or other programs payed for by the taxpayer.

Imagine that, we the taxpayers are paying for the health insurance of all these part time employees who work part time for companies like, Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, PAPA JOHNS, CHICK FILETS, theres those good ole corporations you Romney fans seem to be all so fond of...

I hope he does have to raise his prices and that it will result in that franchise disappearing- I can't stand seeing his twitchy face on tv all the time. Crap pizza- I don't understand how they stay in business, especially here in the tri-state area where there is great pizza all around.
