Grouse
The man is very dangerous to gun ownership and the 2nd Amendment. And, if re-elected he will have the ability to appoint at least 2 new SCOTUS judges, and he will surely appoint anti-gun judges that will repeal the 2nd Amendment altogether if given the chance. http://www.gunbanobama.com/

Seriously? You are just too funny... Do you even know what it takes to repeal an Amendment? Or make an new one? I'll give you the short version, 38 states would have to agree to it. Thirty Eight. Good luck on getting 38 states to agree on anything these days. Obama hasn't done anything in the way of new gun control legislature. Its not even a talking point on his campaign. I have to tell you, if the President gets reelected, I'm still planning on starting my "OMG HAZ HE TAKEN ALLZ UR GUNZ YET?!?!" thread, with weekly updates asking people to share their stories of oppression. I'm still betting there won't be much action on the post. Repeal the 2nd Amendment, its still making me chuckle, I don't know how I missed this for so long. ants
Not saying that he would repeal the 2nd, amendment but his past record on gun control is worth looking at. Making gun control legislation part of his reelection campaign wouldn't be a very smart move, he would lose a lot of people on that issue. IMHO

Laugh it up laughing boy. If he gets re-elected you will be laughing out your hind end. All the SCOTUS has to do to virtually "repeal" the 2nd Amendment is allow laws to be installed that will effectively nullify any right you have to own a gun. It's an end run around the Constitution through activist courts and judges that will eliminate your owning guns. Sure the 2nd Amendment will still be on the books, but it will then grant you the right to own only what gun they let you own. Hope you can hunt deer with your Daisy Red Ryder. Post your stupid thread 4 years after Obama's 2nd inaugeration. See if it gets any action then. You obviously have no idea what happened in England, Australia or Canada in the last few years. Apparently, ignorance truly is bliss.

He also signed massachusetts 2004 assault weapons ban making his state worse than NY for gun control and Mass is the most anti gun state next to California in America... He increased firearm and hunting license fees drastically for sportsman of his state...

apoallo
I am gonna waste my vote this year and vote for the independant thrid party that no one hears about.. sits in trees
Clinton and the Dem congress got spanked after he signed the 1994 assault weapons ban. The popularity of guns in America has gone WILD! Not even 1/10 of Americas gun owners even belong to the NRA just to give you an idea of the numbers, gun sales are at an all time high and have been so for years now. Theres not a politician in the country that would be crazy enough to go after guns except maybe NY city's mayor Bloomberg and if you havent noticed most Democrats are distancing themselves from his views on guns... The old "ohh the Democrats will take your guns thing" doesnt really hold water anymore. But issues like Ryan n Myth Romney will take your Medicare do. 132 eight pointer
I hope your right sits in trees because my local newspaper quoted governer Cuomo saying in 2013 the time was right for more gun control. This was just after the idiot shot up the movie theater in Colorado and other CRIMINAL acts in OTHER states.
ants
Anyone think it's possible for, who ever is in charge, to tax the crap out of guns and ammo. making them so pricey that most people cant afford them? A $400 gun is now $2000? a $20 box of ammo is now $100? Just asking
BizCT
I'm 28 years old. No matter who is president. It will never happen in my lifetime where authorities come to each and every house in America to take away guns. Let's be serious.
steve863
You guys really think Romney is pro-gun?? Yeah, of course he flip-flopped on this issue like he has with every other one, and now he says he supports the 2nd amendment, but you guys just might be in for a surprise if he becomes president. Sure Obama could pull something if he gets in again also, but I think his party is well aware of the potential backlash for the 2016 election if they do something unpopular. On the other hand Romney would have absolutely NOTHING to lose by implementing more gun control. You know damned well that the sitting president is pretty much a shoe-in for renomination for a second term. So if he sticks to his original anti-gun philosophy and implements some gun controls, what would you republicans do in the 2016 election?? Vote for a democrat instead?? LOL Like I said, he would have absolutely NOTHING to lose. Have a few more mass killings happen under his watch and you will see what happens. bushnell
It doesn't matter if gun control is put into place. The honest people will get the big victims. This wont stop the a$$holes from getting there illegal guns and victimizing the hell out of people. The s**t heads still get there drugs. The same will be for guns. They will still get there hands on them.

If you mean the President then it is so unlikely I would say it's virtually impossible (although in theory it would be possible). That tax policy would have to be approved by the House and Senate before it even made it to the President for approval. The current Congress has no interest in dealing with this issue. Personally I think gun companies and the NRA are secretly hoping Obama gets elected. You will see another big spike in gun sales after election day, just like in 2008. That is why they keep up the fear campaign. Just my 2 cents. Edited October 16, 2012 by d-bone20917
Doc
Anyone think it's possible for, who ever is in charge, to tax the crap out of guns and ammo. making them so pricey that most people cant afford them? A $400 gun is now $2000? a $20 box of ammo is now $100? Just asking You know, everyone will simply ignore this post and instead talk about how impossible a repeal of the second amendment is, but I would like to mention that it doesn't take a repeal of any amendment to effectively eliminate guns and ammo, as ants' reply mentions. Case in point is cigarettes. They are still legal to purchase, so supposedly everyone has the right to purchase those products. However, look at how effectively the government has put a hurtin' on the tobacco industry through citizen behavior modification, via taxation. If they decide to tax guns and ammo to death, how is the 2nd amendment going to stop that? If you have a renegade, 2nd term, nothing-to-lose, president who now feels politically free to push his anti-gun agenda, I guess he can probably figure out a way around a pesky old Constitution. It's not like there's no precedent.

BizCT
did you forget the LOL after that post Biz? No, I'm serious. I don't know anybody who smokes anymore. I don't see it anywhere anymore either. Barely anybody in Westchester County or NYC smokes these days. You can't smoke in public parks, train platforms, etc.
Culvercreek hunt club
There are still tons that do. swing by a reservation store and check out the lines. One south of Syracuse has a drive through window and there is a line there from the time it opens until it closes. They tax the ammo any more the Native Americans will be making ammo too. Not there is an irony for you. Use buying ammo from them...lol
BizCT
swing by a reservation store and check out the lines. I only know what this type of store is from traveling throughout NYS, but most people in this area have no idea what a "reservation store" is.
