Zag
So I always keep my hunting cloths in a rubber made plastic bin with a lid. I usually throw some ears of corn or walnuts. I was thinking about a scented candle to throw in there, maybe apple or a pine scent? What do u think? Stupid?
Renegade Hunter
I get the dryer sheets that smell like the woods and stick them in a tote with my clothes.

Zag
Great q, I believe you can get ones that smell just like a pine tree.
Renegade Hunter
Go to walmart. They should have the dryer sheets right there in the sporting goods section. I think Scent Killer makes them. They honestly work great. They smell like if you were to go out in the woods and scoop up a mixture of leaves and dirt. SteveB
Save your money. You cannot hide one scent from a deer with another. They simply smell you and the pine/whatever you add.
ants
i just wash my stuff, in scent free soap and then keep them in contractor grade garbage bags. When I head out I spray my clothes and boots with scent shield, or a similar product. When I get to my tree I like to kick out a patch of dirt, to get a little earth smell going, & I might spray a little plain doe pee on a near by bush. I think the biggest thing is to keep your self and your clothes as clean as possible.
josephmrtn
Save your money. You cannot hide one scent from a deer with another. Zag
I got em!! I always wash them in sent free and constantly spray myself. SteveB in my opinion something's better than nothing especially when its only a few buck!
Jeremy K
I wash in scent free soap ,followed by a few good weeks on the line (or until a good rain storm) once dry , i package them in with weeds i cut down from the field next to where i hunt . I cant prove it works anymore than someone can prove it doesn't .
SteveB
thats not 100% true... if you are mixing your scent in with a bunch of other it is harder to pinpoint (i.e. they will think its coming from farther away because it is diluted) It's not diluted to a deer - it is just an additional scent they process. They are a prey animal, are wired that way and stay alive because of it. It doesn't fool a dog and deer have a better developed sense of smell. But if anyone feels better adding a dash of animal urine to their daily routine, by all means go for it.
landtracdeerhunter
I rub my cloths on deer hides. Nothing like natural deer dander.

Carbonelement
just hunt the wind and you can spray ax on them if you want to smell funky! But in all seriousness i think you should just throw some branches from the prop/props u hunt and that will be good enough

Right you are Steve! You can put whip cream, chocolate syrup, and a cherry on top of a pile of poop, and I'll gaurantee you it won't smell like an ice cream sundae, lol
Catskill Hunter
If you are using Scent Loc or similar ( as I do ) their directions state not to store clothes with any cover scents as it will decrease the effectiveness of the scent control.
